This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Mark’s Room is an old school hardcore room escape game with intuitive puzzles yet minimum hints, it is designed for puzzle lovers who desire a proper challenge.
You phased into a room which appears to be your childhood home, you recognize the furniture, the toys, the smell. All too familiar, and yet something is off.
Collect items, combine or dismantle them, unlock containers, find passwords, solve puzzles, until you find the key to escape the room… only to wake up in another room with more challenging puzzles. As you explore the rooms, you also find clues that reveal the truth about your past. Escaping all the rooms and even collecting all the clues to piece together what happened in these rooms is not an easy task!
About us
We are Ginger&Snow(G.S.) Studio, an indie game studio with two members. We teamed up 10 years ago because we both love room escape games, and we’ve played so many of them that one day we found out there’s nothing new to play, so we decided to make one. We are part-time developers and during the development the programmer became a new father and then a father of two… anyway, ten years later, this is the game, please join Mark in his nostalgic rooms and challenge the puzzles we designed with heart and soul(and programmed with one hand holding a bottle of milk feeding a baby).
Special thanks to all the people who played our demo and followed us through our long journey of making this game. To all the content creators who recorded let’s play video of the demo: we watched all the videos and every single one of them made one of our days in these 10 long years. Thank you everyone, you kept us going.
