Guide: Installing Christmas Crisis on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Christmas Crisis? Features and Description

Christmas. Its all about happiness, presents, joy and .. erm.. betrayal ? necromancy ? clones ? did I say Evil Santa ? Santa has been betrayed by his own elves and workers who, fed up by being overworked, have secretly created Santa's own clone, a Evil Santa to take over his winter domain.

PLEASE NOTE
Christmas Crisis is currently in Early Access, meaning we are still adding new features to the game and improving multiplayer stability and performance. We are looking for players who want to play the early version of the game, and hopefully also get involved in its development.

Ah, Christmas. Its all about happiness, presents, joy and .. erm.. betrayal ? necromancy ? clones ? did I say Evil Santa ?
Santa has been betrayed by his own damn elves and workers who, fed up by being overworked, have secretly created Santa's own clone, a Evil Santa to take over his winter domain and ruin Christmas for everyone.
Santa has summon you, souls of brave warriors, to his world to help him battle the traitors and growing evil. Kill them and... erm, raise their dead bodies ? Santa and Necromastery ?

This is a open-map (IO-style) multiplayer and semi-RTS game with element of necromancy and themed to Winter/Christmas.
Battle against neutral monsters (well, the evil) and other players in this free-for-all world and raise the defeated foes as part of your own army, everyone starts with a small army of their own to fight autonomous battles against nearby foes and expand by raising the defeated foes.

Defeat stronger enemies and world-even bosses to unlock unique playable characters and army units.

FEATURES
_______
-Open-map world, with massive multiplayer (upto 100 players within a single map)
-Always online even without other players (random NPC/monsters are controlled by total number of players on the map, if no players, the world spawns even more units to let you play alone till more players join). No waiting for room to fill or lobby, just hop in and start playing
-Necromastery for your defeated foes. You can raise units defeated by you as part of your own units. Your own defeated units cannot be raised again by you (but other player who defeated them can raise them). Balance your living army and keep expanding it by raising the dead.
-World bosses to add a new level of challenge, try to defeat them alone or with other players and their army to unlock unique playable characters, animations and more for your army units

ROADMAP
The following are features that we'd really like to add, but everything is subject to change as development is still on-going.
