How to Download Pit of Evil

1. Click on the Pit of Evil download button below.
2. Choose "Install" to install the game on the windows steam client.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts
4. Let it download the Full Version.
5. Once a game is downloaded, use the Windows Steam Client to play the game.

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Barry and his friends Arlene and Nellie decide to visit the Pit of Evil, the place where they lost their friend Fynn. While spending the night in a tent, things take an unexpected turn. The group gets seperated, while Barry suffers the same fate as Fynn, falling into the Pit of Evil.

We decided to remake this game once more after we released it, a new Version (2.0.0) is now available (released on 25th June).
It contains a deeper Story, more text/dialogue, 2-3 Hours more gameplay, remake of some maps, puzzles, etc.
Currently the first 6 chapters of the game are available.
Addition: Chapter 7-9 (full game) will be available approx 15th-18th August.

Check out the new demo we released on 25th June (Version: 2.0.0).
The demo includes the first chapter of the game, the savefiles are fully compatible with the full version.

BARRY
Age: 16 / Class: Close Clombat / Location: Northpeak
The skilled swordfighter Barry spends most of his time training hard. Trying to keep everything together he often feels overwhemled, which brings out his rude side.

ARLENE
Age: 16 / Class: White Mage / Location: Northpeak
The beautiful girl Arlene likes to tease everybody and worries about everything. She wears a Golden Pendant, a gift she got from her friend Barry.

NELLIE
Age: 14 / Class: White Mage / Location: Northpeak
The creative girl Nellie likes to draw stuff and smack people when she loses her temper. She has a pet, a piglet named Snoots that she cares very much about.

ELIJAH
Age: 17 / Class: Range Combat / Location: Eastpave
Elijah trains with a bow and sets traps around Eastpave. He is the oldest of all Orphans.

MADISON
Age: 15 / Class: Black Mage / Location: Westpine
The annoying Madison swings her staff, that provides her black magic spells with the elements of fire, water, wind, earth, light and darkness.

FYNN
Age: 15 / Class: Close Combat / Location: Northpeak
The rebel boy Fynn likes to seek adventures and discover new things. Not obeying the rules of Eternia, often gets him into trouble.
