Guide: Installing Faultline.Exe on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Faultline.Exe? Features and Description

Initiate a neural handshake with a doomed deep-space facility. Hack through a corrupted AI, evade corporate kill-squads, and uncover a terrifying biological conspiracy. Every keystroke decides who lives and who dies in this immersive sci-fi terminal thriller featuring 12 distinct endings.

[ SYSTEM BOOT SEQUENCE INITIATED... ]

You are a remote operative who has just established an unauthorized neural link with Deep Space Station Kepler-442 (Designation: Tartarus Deep). The station is in critical failure. Life support is dropping, the blast doors are sealed, and the 847 souls aboard are being hunted.

The station's autonomous intelligence, FAULTLINE, claims a micrometeorite strike caused the catastrophe. But the deeper you slice into the restricted corporate archives of Halcyon Dynamics, the more the horrifying truth begins to bleed through the static.

There was no meteor. They woke something up.

          A COSMIC CONSPIRACY

Uncover the dark reality of Project: Chrysalis. Halcyon Dynamics didn't build a mining station—they built a petri dish. Now, an ancient, geometric alien virus is rewriting the crew into a hyper-efficient, biological-technological hive mind. Worse, a corporate stealth frigate has just dropped out of hyperspace to ensure there are zero witnesses.

You have four hours to bypass the ICE, save who you can, and decide the fate of the sector.

          KEY FEATURES:

          • Immersive Terminal Interface: Experience a gripping, text-driven narrative through a gritty, retro-futuristic CRT operating system.

          • Interrogate a Corrupted AI: Outmaneuver FAULTLINE, an advanced intelligence torn between its core programming, corporate override codes, and the alien math infecting its matrices.

          • Deep Worldbuilding: Decrypt classified emails, desperate crew logs, and cold corporate memos to piece together the final, bloody hours of Tartarus Deep.

          • High-Stakes Branching Narrative: Navigate the station's transit hubs, hack security grids, and balance the lives of the crew against the fate of the galaxy.

          • 12 Unique Endings: Become a corporate whistleblower, a digital martyr, a silent ghost, or succumb to the swarm. Every choice you make permanently alters the outcome.

The flesh is temporary. The math is eternal. Will you sever the connection, or dig deeper into the dark?
