This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Game Overview Dive into "B2" as Officer Rokkaku to unlock the "ADA" prototype. Reach 100F to defeat the Guardian! Choose from 3 doors with random stats to build your power. With random gear and traps, every run is unique. Use logic and luck to climb!
"Your choices will rewrite your reality."
A grueling cyber-labyrinth spanning 100 floors. Your only lifelines are the random enhancements found beyond each door and your own resource management. Conquer luck with pure strategy in this definitive roguelike experience.
To unlock the functions of the BMI-type investigative support prototype "ADA," investigator Mutsumi Rokkaku dives into the virtual world "B2." Plunging into a massive maze without equipment or pre-set abilities, Mutsumi’s journey is truly that of a "Rising Fool."
This title is a floor-based roguelike where your goal is to conquer 100 levels. In each floor, players must choose one of "Three Doors" to progress through combat and events.
Combat is turn-based, where you select from "Quick, Buster, and Counter" to face enemies. The affinity between these choices, your stats, and limited ST management determine the outcome. ST is consumed for everything—exploration, combat, and skill usage. Deciding when to fight and when to evade is critical. If you are defeated or your ST is depleted, it is Game Over, and you must restart from the 1st floor.
"Select Door → Combat/Event → Power-up → Next Floor" Repeat this cycle to defeat the Guardian at the 100th floor.
The game is primarily played using mouse-driven selection.
Combat is built on a "Rock-Paper-Scissors" structure: Quick, Buster, and Counter.
Quick seals Counters.
Buster crushes Quicks.
Counter parries Busters.
When affinities are tied, the outcome is determined by your Breakthrough Power stat. If Breakthrough Power is also equal, fate is left to chance.
Every action—Growth, Combat, and Skill Usage—requires a shared resource: ST.
The Cost of Combat: ST is consumed for every single action. The longer a battle drags on, the harder it becomes to continue your exploration.
The Weight of Gear: Powerful equipment increases your ST Cost per action. Will you choose heavy armor for a quick decimation of foes, or light gear for a war of attrition? Your build's direction determines your survival.
In each floor, you are presented with three doors and six growth parameters. Manipulating these with skills is the key to conquest.
Bipolar: Pay ST to double your gained parameters. However, failure results in a lethal "-2x" penalty.
Fate Transfer: Reroll the available doors and parameters to pull destiny back in your favor.
Gate Summons: Summon a door leading directly to the next floor. Be warned: failure may summon the "Bone Door," bringing you face-to-face with an immediate Game Over.
Vitality / Strength / Resistance / Dexterity / Agility / Luck
These stats directly influence not only the advantages in combat but also your efficiency during exploration. Specializing in the right stats is the only way to defeat the Guardian of the 100th Floor.
