Guide: Installing One Dice Dungeon Delve on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is One Dice Dungeon Delve? Features and Description

"One Die. One Life. Infinite Delving." Experience the digital evolution of a tabletop classic. Master unique class abilities, discover procedural loot that visually transforms your hero, and challenge global leaderboards in this high-stakes d6-powered roguelike. How deep will you delve?

🎲 The Digital Ghost of a Cardboard Classic

Born from a physical prototype of scrap paper and a single d6, One Dice Dungeon Delve (ODDD) captures the raw tension of tabletop gaming. No complex math just you, your strategy, and the roll of the die.

Every movement, combat resolution, and loot drop is driven by the visible roll of a single d6.

⚔️ Look the Part: Peasant to Powerhouse

Witness true visual progression. Our Layered Paper-Doll System ensures that every helmet, chestplate, sword, and cape you find is instantly reflected on your character sprite. Start your journey as a basic peasant and end it as an Adamantine-clad legend.

🛡️ Four Classes, Four Destinies

ODDD isn't just about stats; it’s about tactical identity:

  • The Berserker: Fuel your Bloodlust. Gain temporary HP with every kill to chain-fight through the horde.

  • The Knight: Perfect your Parry. Automatically negate a strike and deliver a devastating riposte once per floor.

  • The Archer: Master Piercing Shots. Line up your enemies to deal splash damage to the entire rank.

  • The Paladin: Harness Powerful Healing. Utilize healing magic to outlast the darkest depths.

👻 Haunt Your Friends: The Ghost System

Death is only the beginning. Export your runs and share them with the community. Other players can then import your "Seed Matrix" to see your literal Ghost pathing through their dungeon. Learn from the masters or avoid the mistakes of the fallen.

👹 Face the Gelatinous Boss

Brave the lair of the Gelatinous Dice. This unique boss uses an "Absorption Slide" to launch itself down corridors, devouring monsters and loot to gain power. Defeat it to unlock the "Silly Hats" system and other legendary cosmetics.

✨ Key Features

  • One-Die Mechanics: A transparent combat system where every roll is visible and vital.

  • Procedural Mastery: Infinite dungeon topologies driven by a deep seed matrix.

  • Visual Loot: 50+ unique items that visually transform your hero in real-time.

  • Daily Challenges: Compete on global Steam leaderboards with a synchronized daily seed.

❤️ Why I Made This

ODDD started during a slow day at my desk with a single die and a dream. I wanted to see if I could capture the 'one more-roll' addictiveness of tabletop gaming in a digital format. What started at my kitchen table has grown into a full-fledged adventure, tested rigorously by my son and improved by an amazing community. Thanks for delving with us!
