This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Description:
Iblis usurps the Ancient Temple of Astrology to indulge in divinations, for he desires distorting human future with foul deeds and no peace! The temple serves as a meeting spot between fortune tellers and Pagan Gods, known as 'The Celestials'. Entry to outsiders is strictly forbidden but Iblis tricks the fortune tellers to get inside. He demands the Gods grant upon him the power to see and alter the future however, such an ask proves fruitless as he came in empty handed! The conditional Gods demand 'unique offerings', unique in the sense something they have never been offered before. If this deal is fulfilled, only then Iblis can attain dark knowledge of divination. Thus, recent news about biblical relics moving out of renovating museum serve as golden opportunity for Iblis to snatch what he believes, is something truly special! While relics such as True Cross, Holy Lance and others are flown mid-air by civilian chopper, Iblis pull's down the chopper using his demonic power! Only one injured survivor finds a way out. He is your Grandpa Albert Perry, a museum curator who bravely engages with Iblis but loses out on few relics! Grandpa sends a SOS message to John, mentioning his whereabouts before going silent.
Gameplay:
Foul Deeds of Iblis is a horror game where you play as John Perry and must serve two objectives. First is to rescue your only blood relative- Grandpa Albert from inside a temple possessed by vicious djinn's. The second objective is extraction of five biblical relics from the evil grasp of Iblis. At any cost, Iblis must not present these relics before the Gods! Your navigation and intuition skills will be tested time and again. Several letters' written by grandpa serve as ray of hope even in a dark, oppressive labyrinth beneath the temple. Be cautious, the immortal djinn and his inhuman companions will throw punches, jabs, kicks and jump-scares to halt your momentum...
