This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
A cozy lovecraftian horror retro RPG. Become a paranormal investigator & explore an open world. Solve a criminal conspiracy of the occult. Investigate & battle monsters.

Step into the shoes of a disgruntled paranormal investigator and journey to a town that feels lost to time. Uncover a criminal conspiracy, solve a murder, all while exploring an open world and a massive sprawling castle shrouded in darkness. Featuring characters and themes inspired by Lovecraftian horror.

Haunting of Mageburrow is an RPG that combines that feeling of retro cozy gameplay, with horror and the surreal. Set in the small English town of Mageburrow, you will play as a Paranormal Investigator (male or female, your choice) who has been struggling with their job. Never enough proof to actually prove anything, but at least you are putting your clients minds at ease. All is somewhat well, until you begin having mysterious dreams. Followed by a phone call from a Professor, with a new job for you. Investigating the sprawling Mageburrow Castle.
What follows next is a series of mysterious events. A car accident. A murder. A shady real estate deal. Everything is connected. But to what? The occult. What is real, and what is pure fiction? You'll dive head first into the cult, a gothic castle, and a cozy English town to explore. Slowly you'll start to unravel the conspiracy as you meet the citizens of Mageburrow. From this crazy cast of characters, everyone has a secret to hide. Oh and there's monsters to battle. Don't forget the monsters.

The town of Mageburrow can be explored as you wish. You'll meet the townsfolk, purchase gear, and even find keys that unlock doors in the castle. Each building has many rooms to explore. You'll also get a room for yourself to call your own at the Inn. The town will change depending on if it's day or night.
Mageburrow Castle is a sprawling estate to explore, with many rooms and creepy haunts to discover. Locked doors, puzzles, and cultists will be around every corner. Flickering lighting effects add to the mood and mystery of what actually lurks in each room. And soon you'll discover that monsters lurk behind those walls...
You'll find yourself changing from a Paranormal Investigator, to someone who battles actual monsters of the occult. What is real and what is not? You'll need to find out. Your life and sanity depends on it.
