This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Game Objective and Rules
Your goal in each level is to collect a certain number of ingredients. Current objectives are always displayed on the left side of the screen.
How to Play:
Create combinations: Swap adjacent tiles to line up 3 or more of the same type in a row or column. If you can't see a move, the game will prompt you after 15 seconds.
Keep an eye on the task: Simply exploding tiles is not enough. If a level requires a certain number of red and blue tiles, focus on them.
The levels have a unique structure: pyramids, spirals, rings, and other shapes await you. Each stage features a unique block layout, creating a unique board pattern and new obstacles. Empty spaces and walls change the trajectory of falling tiles, which must be taken into account when planning your moves.
Boosters (Helpers)
If you get stuck or run out of moves, use artifacts from the panel on the right. Select a booster, then apply it to the board:
Hammer: A pinpoint strike. Destroys any single selected tile. However, it is actually unpredictable—with an extremely rare chance, it can destroy the entire level and move you to the next one.
Sword: Slices space. Destroys an entire horizontal row.
Two Swords: Cross Strike. Destroys both an entire row and an entire column intersecting at a selected point.
Bomb: A medium-power explosion. Destroys all tiles within a 3x3 radius of the target.
Lightning: The magic of color. Select any tile, and lightning will destroy absolutely all tiles of that type on the board.
Hurricane: Chaos for Good. Completely shuffles all tiles on the playing field (activates immediately when pressed).
Booster Shop
Your points are valuable currency. The game features a Shop where you can replenish your supplies.
The more tiles you destroy and the longer your combinations, the more points you earn.
You can use these points to purchase any missing booster right during the game. Don't be afraid to spend your earnings if it helps you pass a difficult level!
Features and Tips
Combo Attacks: Matching 4 tiles in a row triggers a magic beam that destroys the line. Matching 5 tiles destroys all elements vertically and horizontally (in a cross).
Collection: After each completed level, you receive a unique story item. You can examine your trophies and read their story in the Collection menu. Difficulty: The game starts with easy levels, but gradually the number of magic items increases, and the board shapes become more complex.
Controls
Left mouse button: Select a piece, swap positions, use boosters, buy in the store.
Right mouse button: Deselect a booster (if you change your mind about using it).
ESC key: Exit to the menu.
M key: Quickly turn music on or off.
N key: Quickly turn sound effects on or off.
B key: Turn the background on or off.
