This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
A short first-person horror game featuring exploration, puzzles, and a terrifying clown who hunts you inside a secluded mansion.
The Clown -White Pursuer- is a first-person 3D horror game in which you must escape from an abandoned Western-style mansion while being hunted by a white-painted clown.
As you explore the mansion, you will encounter light puzzles that can be solved within the areas you are able to reach. By observing your surroundings and uncovering scattered hints, you gradually carve out a path toward escape.
But during your investigation, the “White Pursuer” may appear from anywhere.
Footsteps, a faint presence, and a heartbeat that grows faster and heavier as he approaches—
the constant uncertainty of when he will appear creates relentless tension throughout the experience.
Your objective is simple:
Escape the mansion.
However, the white-painted clown roams the halls, and his appearances are entirely random.
A place that felt safe a moment ago can become a danger zone the next.
Dim hallways, broken lights, and dust-covered furniture create a suffocating atmosphere.
The limited field of view and realistic environmental details enhance the feeling of being trapped.
The clown’s appearances are completely unpredictable.
He may show up:
at the end of a hallway you casually walk down
inside a room you entered to investigate
at the very moment you focus on a puzzle
or right behind you when you turn around
This unpredictability leaves a lasting impact, even in a short playtime.
With the pacing unique to a short title,
exploration → tension → puzzles → escape
are packed into a compact yet intense experience.
Perfect for short sessions and replayable by design.
WASD: Move
Mouse: Look
Left Shift (Hold): Sprint
E: Interact
B: Open/Close Inventory
Esc: Open/Close Menu
All of your exploration leads toward one purpose—finding a way out.
But the closer you get to the end, the more aggressively your pursuer closes in.
Footsteps grow louder.
White shadows flicker at the edge of your vision.
In this rising tension,
will you manage to escape—
or will you be trapped in the mansion forever?
