This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Bird Game: What The Flock is a chaotic PVP bird brawler where teams fight to steal the enemy egg and bring it back to their nest. Use open voice chat to yell, trick, and squawk your way to victory in fast, hilarious bird mayhem.
A chaotic PVP party game where you and your friends play as unhinged birds battling over a single precious egg. Use open voice chat to bluff, squawk, scream, and strategize as you dive-bomb enemies, steal their egg, and rush it back to your nest. Fast, frantic, and hilariously loud. This is bird warfare at its finest. Based off the viral meme Bird Game.
The heart of every match is a single, precious egg. Sneak, swoop, or straight-up bully your way into the enemy nest, grab the egg, and haul it home. But holding the egg slows you down—and paints a giant target on your feathery backside. Expect desperate chases, mid-air tackles, and last-second steals that turn the whole match upside down.
Hear your enemies getting closer… literally. With open proximity chat, nearby players can shout at you, bluff strategies, fake callouts, or panic-scream as you close in. Trash talk becomes a weapon. Strategy becomes chaos. Every match sounds like a wildlife documentary gone horribly wrong.
Climb the seasonal Battle Nest to unlock new birds, goofy cosmetics, chaotic emotes, skins, trails, and more. Complete challenges, earn feathers, and show off how truly deranged your bird can look. Each season brings new rewards and new ways to humiliate the other team.
Work together with your flock to set ambushes, defend the nest, run decoy plays, or sacrifice yourself for the egg carrier. Even better—use voice chat to plan, deceive, or intentionally confuse your enemies. Team synergy is powerful… but betrayals are hilarious.
Matches are short, explosive, and always chaotic. Dive-bomb enemies, flap into walls, tackle birds mid-flight, drop the egg on purpose to fake out pursuers, or scream as you’re yeeted into the sky. Every round is unpredictable, loud, and endlessly replayable.
Pick from an expanding roster of iconic (and slightly feral) birds—each with their own look, personality, and movement quirks.
Seagull: Loud, aggressive, loves stealing anything not nailed down.
Pigeon: Fast, slippery, perfect for quick snatches and escapes.
Parrot: Mimics callouts and causes maximum confusion.
…and more unique birds added each season.
