This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
BND Legends: Operation Blackbox is a tactical stealth adventure where you guide agent AJ through a fortified tech compound, infiltrate enemy systems, steal critical data, and complete clever minigames with support from your elite BND team.

BND Legends: Operation Blackbox is a story-driven stealth and infiltration game that places you in the role of AJ, a field agent of the German Federal Intelligence Service. Your mission leads you deep into the high-security headquarters of Warlink.AI, a foreign tech corporation suspected of developing a devastating AI-powered cyber weapon known as T-Cell. Hidden somewhere inside the facility lies the Blackbox, a sealed server containing all research data. Your task is to infiltrate the complex, retrieve as much information as possible, and escape before the enemy security forces can react.
AJ never enters the mission alone. She is supported remotely by two specialists who help shape every decision inside the field.
Atlas, the team’s geo-intelligence and tactics expert, scans the environment, reveals camera sightlines and patrol zones, and provides strategic guidance that helps you navigate the facility unseen. Ruby, the team’s hacker, accesses locked systems, manipulates devices, overrides defenses, and leads you through intricate hacking challenges that reach far into enemy networks. Together, the three agents form a tightly coordinated unit whose collaboration is crucial for the success of Operation Blackbox.
The entire operation takes place in the tech district of Te-Guug, the futuristic capital of Bethulan. Warlink.AI’s headquarters resembles a fortified research citadel made of steel, carbon and glass, guarded by drones, soldiers and cutting-edge surveillance technology. More than a simple office building, this sprawling facility houses experimental AI labs, production halls and deep server layers. Somewhere within this fortress lies the guarded Blackbox – your primary objective and the key to uncovering the T-Cell threat.
Your journey spans five atmospheric levels, each offering its own tone and set of challenges. The outer premises serve as a warm-up in which AJ learns to move silently and stay in the shadows. From there, you infiltrate the heavily monitored entrance complex, where disguises, misdirection and careful observation are the only ways to advance without raising suspicion.
The mission then leads you into a pitch-dark production hall, a maze filled with patrolling drones, industrial noise and a massive ceiling crane that you must carefully maneuver through a dangerous obstacle course while trying to restore the power supply.
Pressure intensifies as you reach the Quantum Layer, a high-tech server zone filled with patrols, platform puzzles and a temporary identity cloak that can collapse at the worst possible moment. After a security alert, every second counts while you fight your way toward the data vault before the entire area locks down.
The operation culminates inside a virtual data stream, where Ruby dives into a surreal digital environment, races through endless data corridors, evades firewalls and defensive protocols, and extracts the final pieces of intelligence needed to expose the full scope of the T-Cell weapon.
BND Legends: Operation Blackbox blends stealth, strategy, dynamic environmental challenges and cinematic storytelling into a concentrated, high-tension experience. The world of Bethulan, infused with high-tech espionage, political intrigue and the looming threat of an AI catastrophe, creates a gripping backdrop for AJ’s mission. Working together with Atlas and Ruby, you must stay silent, stay hidden and stay in control. Every step in the shadows brings you closer to the Blackbox – or straight into danger.
