Guide: Installing Ergenekon on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Ergenekon? Features and Description

Ergenekon is a story-based, cinematic-heavy, linear, third person single player game about the Turkish epic Ergenekon. You will witness the resurrection of the Turks with Ergenekon.

"How many of you know where we came from?

Like our ancestor Kayan, we were a storm."

          The Resurrection of a Nation

The Ergenekon Epic recounts how the last four survivors of the Göktürks, defeated by deception, survived and kept a race alive. Led by Gökbörü, the Sky God's messenger, the Turks would first survive and then rise again.

          Witness Two Different Time Zones

Witness the story of the last surviving Göktürks settling in Ergenekon to protect their race, and the story of the exodus of the strengthened Turks from Ergenekon under the leadership of Sky-Eyed Gökbörü, with transitions depicting two different time periods.

As you witness the survival of the Göktürks through the eyes of Kayan Khan, you will fight the enemy and protect your companions. 400 years later, you will witness the events of Ergenekon through the eyes of the young shepherd Tirek.

The game consists primarily of cinematic elements and aims to tell the Ergenekon Epic in a gamified way. It also includes minigames such as sword fighting, sheep herding, and deer hunting.

Experience the Epic Step by Step

You'll play the game through the eyes of Kayan Han, son of Hakan, and strive to lead the last four surviving Göktürks to safety. 400 years later, you'll witness the Göktürks' exodus from Ergenekon through the eyes of the young shepherd Tirek.

While the game world is semi-open, the story follows a linear progression. The game, unless challenged by the mini-games (sheep gathering, deer hunting, etc.), is a cinematic-heavy game with no leveling system, lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Players can freely roam Ergenekon and ride horses, but the story continues at certain points, and there are no side quests. Because the game's purpose is to tell the Ergenekon epic, the story is limited to this.

          More Than an Epic

The Ergenekon Epic is not simply an epic; it is a chain of historical events that, with the exception of some mini-epic elements, may reflect reality. These events have been passed down virtually unchanged, and every Turkish child is instructed to tell the story of Ergenekon.

"Know it well, learn it, and explain it,

Don't omit a single word or make added."

Supported In-Game Text Languages (Menu and Subtitles)
