This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
A psychological visual novel about power, pressure, and corruption. Guide Laura through a rising company touched by criminal influence, where force gives way to persuasion, and every choice subtly reshapes who she becomes.
Special Request: Chapter 1 — The Invitation is the first of four standalone chapters.
Each chapter is a complete release, with the option to import your choices into the next one.
Laura is a known public face in her city—interviewed on local TV, active in charity, polished and visible. She tries to live respectfully, yet when overwhelmed, she makes impulsive decisions that others can exploit.
After a night at the Iron Bar spirals out of control, Jean threatens to expose compromising details unless she cooperates. Soon after, an anonymous caller warns her, and when Laura meets a private detective, she finds him murdered. In the shocked crowd, someone whispers:
“What if you're next, Laura?”
The only person who steps forward is BB, an influential friend of the mayor. He claims he can “take care of things,” as he has done for others before, and that as long as Laura stays under his protection, nothing will come to light. His help is reassuring—yet clearly comes with strings attached.
Through BB, Laura is invited to join PAM, a new company that needs a trustworthy public face. Instead of a routine job, she becomes the Corporate Image Director, the person who will shape how the public sees PAM. The more Laura appears beside the company’s logo, the more her own reputation becomes tied to it.
At home, her marriage cracks under pressure; at work, small requests and subtle expectations emerge that she cannot ignore. People hint that BB has “helped” Leina and Reina before—and that refusing him is a mistake.
Your choices shape how Laura responds through the Pure/Corrupt psychological system, influencing her emotional state and determining which scenes, relationships, and information unlock in later chapters.
Chapter 1 introduces the first layer of the conspiracy surrounding PAM, BB’s ambiguous protection, and the escalating fear that someone is watching Laura far too closely.
The invitation is only the beginning.
