This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Launch your heavily armed Star-Fighter into devastating battles across the galaxy in an intense on-the-rails space shooter. Take the role of a skilled fighter pilot assigned to the Interstellar Battleship Alastrius, the only capital ship still fighting for the Republic following a sudden coup d'état. Your mission is simple; blast a path through numerous enemy strongholds, liberate the capital world Velora and restore the Republic. However the enemy forces are vast and they will throw every weapon they have in your path.
The Battleship Alastrius carries a diverse range of playable Star-Fighters from nimble, lightly armed ships to hulking goliaths. When a Star-Fighter is lost in combat its gone for the rest of the campaign so choose your fighters for each mission wisely. The game begins with three different Star-Fighters with a further seven that can be unlocked.

Each Star-Fighter is equipped with multiple Laser Cannons able to shred through enemies, even at long range. If more firepower is needed powerful homing Missiles can make short work of even the toughest targets and if that's not enough the Star-Fighters arsenal of Bombs can devastate everything in a vast area.

From lush green forests to vast deserts, explore bottomless icy glaciers and broken volcanic mining worlds. Plot a course through 16 different planets, space stations, nebulae and other hazardous locations as you guide the Battleship Alastrius back to its home world. With numerous different missions, storyline developments and secret routes it will take many playthroughs to discover everything. 
The devious Imperium have usurped almost the entire Republic military and will throw hordes of forces at you including drones, fighters, tanks, boats, turrets, mines and traps. Find your enemies weakpoints to destroy them efficiently and rack up impression mission high scores. Can you earn a Gold Medal in every Mission?

Saving the most insane superweapons to the end of every mission these hulking war machines will test your skills. Depending on your path a different boss may be poised to strike.

Familiarise yourself with the Star-Fighters controls and weapons systems by taking on the Training Simulator. You have been assigned a Dispatch Officer onboard the battleship Alastrius; Rahalla who is fully voice acted will be your loyal companion guiding your Star-Fighter through the Training Simulator. Rahalla will also guide you through all the campaign missions, sharing developments as the civil war unfolds.
Alastrius offers full Keyboard-and-Mouse controls allowing you to shoot using the Mouse with pinpoint accuracy. If you prefer the Gamepad get ready for a classic Twin-Stick Shooter experience. Both control systems offer full rebinding options.

Alastrius features heavily stylized envrionments and vehicles with sharp lines and bold colours. The game is packed with atmospheric music and intense retro boss tracks.
