This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Seventy-eight years after the Great Collapse, the city of Belmarc stands as a beacon of civilization amid the ruins. A city where magic and technology intertwine, where humans and machines coexist. And in its depths, one Courier begins to chase the forgotten sins of the past.
[Gray Protocol] is a visual novel detective game that deals with incidents occurring in the City-State of Belmarc, where magic and science coexist.
Under the keyword “Clue”,
approach the truth of each case through Investigation · Interrogation · Confrontation · Combination.
You become the City-State’s Fixer, “Orin”,
untangle intertwined clues and confront the truth hidden behind the controlled city.

Orin’s companions will help you approach the truth with their own unique abilities.
Aera, who possesses the ability to control blood,
reconstructs autopsy results for you by reading information from the corpse without leaving a trace.
Lucan, equipped with a high-performance camera and analytical abilities,
captures subtle visual clues and marks traces that cannot be seen.
Interrogate the suspects.
They may sometimes provide new clues and cause each other’s alibis to be questioned.
Or they may refine each other’s alibis even further.
Moirai, who possesses keen senses,
detects individuals who react to specific statements or captures subtle disturbances in false testimony.
Based on the clues obtained so far, logically press the suspect.
If you succeed in the confrontation with the appropriate clue, their hidden truth may be revealed.
Clues connect with one another to create “new clues.”
Based on these new clues, you can continue Interrogation, Confrontation, and further combinations.
When all clues are gathered, the truth will reveal itself.

Belmarc, a City-State where magic and science coexist.
After The Great Cataclysm, Belmarc became a city that could collapse again at any time.
Therefore, it placed “stability” as its highest value.
Risks are eliminated, possibilities are managed, and unpredictable beings are restrained.
Can you push yourself forward within the current of order?
You can play five incidents intertwined with magic and science.
Each scenario unfolds independently, with an estimated playtime of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes per scenario.

At his teacher’s request, Orin welcomes a girl who entered from outside the City-State.
Her name is Aera.
She possessed incomprehensible power, yet was strangely human.
That meeting, which began as a simple “favor,” soon comes into contact with the darkness of Belmarc.

On their way to the checkpoint, an unexpected incident falls before Orin and his companions.
A mangled corpse, false testimony, and a Cognitus waiting for entry.
In that gray zone where the hand of the law does not reach, judgment was always in someone’s trigger.

An audit dispatched to the Association, and two corpses discovered in the restroom.
One person who existed at the same time, in different places.
To follow the truth was always to cross someone’s line.

A victim of uncertain identity
An unconfirmed cause of death
Though we believe in many things as we go on living,
what is it that you wish to believe?

The final incident where controlled justice and personal choice collide.
In Belmarc, a city where magic and science are intertwined, three races coexist.
Humans possess neither magic nor transcendent computational ability,
yet they occupy the center of Belmarc through their remarkable adaptability.
Venerifa, a race that survived the witch hunts of the past,
possess animalistic traits and can wield various forms of magic.
Cognitus, mechanical lifeforms created for war,
were recognized as sentient beings 78 years ago and became members of the City-State.
In Belmarc, where interests clash,
you will resolve various incidents as a Fixer.
