This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Build and manage a medieval kingdom in this deep blend of idle simulation and RTS strategy. Master a dynamic economy, trade in a fluctuating market, and risk resources for rare gains. Train armies to command in real-time battles or automate your path to victory...
Tapper’s Fiefdom is not a simple clicker game. It is the responsibility of a kingdom.
You begin your journey as a small fief lord, transforming your modest village into a vast empire. Gather resources, construct buildings, and raise your army. But be careful; the path to victory is not just about “clicking.”
This is a management simulation that blends “Idle” and “Strategy” genres if you want... Bu if you don't want a strategy experience you can play classic idle like gameplay.
MANAGE YOUR ECONOMY, TAKE RISKS Mining alone is not enough.
Dynamic Market: Follow shifting market prices with the Trader. Buy low, sell high.
Risky Production: Trust the Alchemist. Will you risk turning your resources into “trash” for a chance at producing priceless rare stones, or follow the safe route?
LET YOUR STRATEGY SPEAK In this kingdom, staying Idle (AFK) is a choice, not a requirement.
Deep Army Management: Train, equip, and level up four different unit types (Infantry, Tank, Archer, Mage).
Two Battle Modes: Command your forces directly in RTS-style battles, or relax with Auto-Resolve designed for the idle audience.
ENDLESS GROWTH (PRESTIGE) Think you’ve reached the end?
TerraCore (Prestige System): Reset your kingdom to earn valuable TerraCore points and unlock powerful, permanent upgrades.
Horizontal Growth (Rebuild): Push the limits of your settlement. Rebuild the same structures repeatedly to multiply passive income and create a true empire.
A LIVING WORLD Your kingdom thrives even while you are AFK.
Dynamic Events: From disputes between the Alchemist and Trader to bandit raids, hundreds of events will shape your realm.
AFK-Friendly: The Auto-Select mode prevents events from piling up and intelligently makes decisions while you’re away.
Tapper’s Fiefdom combines the comfort of an Idle game with the Strategy game.
