Guide: Installing Zero One Protocol on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Zero One Protocol? Features and Description

No story. No mercy. Just perfect control and instant punishment. Every jump gets you closer, every failure punishes, and every restart dares you to go again. Welcome to Zero One Protocol, a minimalist, merciless, and dangerously satisfying precision platformer.

Welcome to the digital abyss where your logic will be tested and your emotions pushed to the brink.

Zero One Protocol is a minimalist, merciless, and dangerously satisfying precision puzzle-platformer that strips away the story and leaves you with one brutal truth: every move matters.

No story. No mercy.

Just perfect control, flawless timing, and the satisfaction of surviving a world designed to break you.

The Game

Switch between 0 (False) and 1 (True) to send signals, activate switches, and power logic gates like AND, OR, and NOT.

Your form is the key to every puzzle, and sometimes the trigger for deadly hazards.

Two Ways to Play

  • Classic Mode — Solve puzzles without pressure. Take your time, think, and master logic at your own rhythm.

  • Challenge Mode — Compete globally. Speed, precision, and optimization determine your rank on the worldwide leaderboard.

Climb through handcrafted levels that demand precision, timing, and problem-solving. Miss a jump and fall back. Touch a laser and get erased instantly.

Nothing is random. Nothing is unfair. Mastery is the only way out.

Collect hidden data fragments to piece together why the Zeroverse is breaking and what it wants from you.

Core Features

Precision Platforming: Tight, responsive WASD controls built for split-second accuracy.

Logic-Driven Puzzles: Switches, lasers, and moving platforms perfectly synced to your rhythm.

Calculated Dual Punishment System: Fall and climb again, or die and restart entirely. Every mistake has weight.

Minimalist Sci-Fi World: Clean design and atmospheric synth beats.

Made in Indonesia: Created by a small student team who turned debugging into digital torment.

Failure Feeds the System

Falling is frustrating. Dying is worse.

But each mistake sharpens your reflexes and teaches you patience, timing, and control.

You’ll rage, adapt, and climb again, because the only checkpoint is your own persistence.

Break the Code

Born in a classroom in Indonesia, Zero One Protocol started as one impossible question:

“What if logic could feel pain?”

A small team of students built a prototype and couldn’t stop.

Thousands of jumps, countless crashes, and sleepless nights later, the system became self-aware, a living puzzle that fights back.

Every line of code became a test of endurance. Every level, a reflection of obsession.

Now the experiment is complete, and you’re the final variable.
