This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
In Ass Kicker, fight and dodge your way through enemies and explore the cursed lands of Askverg in search of the not-so-perfect party of heroes to defeat the dark lord of the hour and give these champions the kick in the butt they need to get going!
Keep edging, it's been worse...

Ass Kicker is a Pixel Art adventure with gameplay inspired by great classics like Megaman X, featuring a story based on a D&D campaign that, honestly, only the people who played it still remember.
(AK: Good times… strawberry milk was cheaper back then.)
Take on the role of AK, a wisecracking bard who constantly breaks the fourth wall (AK: It was already broken when I got here!). Explore the land of Askverg, and look for the perfect heroes for a perfect tale!
(AK: Perfect might be overselling... how about adequate?)

Adapting a first D&D adventure of an inexperienced Dungeon Master, Ass Kicker is a first game of an equally inexperienced deV! (AK: He is obviously talking about himself...)
Experience a story created from Friendship, tabletop madness, the dumbest of jokes...
And above all...
PURE OBESSESION FOR A DREAM. (AK: Yep... the deV is kind of nuts)

Meet the heroes of tomorrow, inspired by the real player characters from that old campaign, where the , now, protagonist AK (AK: That's me!!) tries to gather a party epic enough to become legends... and maybe their ballad makes gold & fame enough to pay his tab on his favorite tavern.
(AK: If the bard with the flower name can hit the jackpot, I sure can!!)

in the land of Askverg, it is common for adventurers to use sword & sorcery in their travels, with AK is no different.
The bard is a wielder of runic magic, a rare and ancient art that demands the understanding of the forgotten texts.(AK: That Wizard course finally paid off!)
With a gameplay inspired by Megaman X, unleash the runic magic and mock your enemies or thunder wave them into oblivion!
But be careful! Even ancient powers runs out if you get cocky!

Despite being constantly under threat, Askverg remains a land full of beauty, and most of this beauty is brought to life through experimental Pixel Art! (AK: Experimental because the dev can’t draw properly!)

(AK: Seriously, if you add us to your wishlist, I'll drink a Strawberry milk in your honor!)
So, what are you waiting for?
Grab your hat, tune your instrument, and join the song.
Legends don’t write themselves — and every good story needs a solid kick to get started.
(AK: Man... I can't believe he menaged to explain the title)
