This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Futuristic Tower Defense Action! All out war between You and Crossite vs. Erossite. Use Strategy to place down towers and defend from Erossite enemies. Equip Flash Drives to give yourself an edge above enemies. Solve puzzles to help Crossite locate enemy bases.
Futuristic Tower Defense in a all out war between You and Crossite vs. Erossite.
What is the Gameplay?
Traditional Tower defense featuring towers of 2 categories with 4 each, Standard and Special Towers. Place down towers to shoot at Erossite drones, stop them from reaching the end of the track or you lose health. Earn money by destroying drones, finishing waves, or extracting it. Use money to buy more towers.
Use a ability to your advantage. Dig destroys all towers and gives money back but at a fee. EMP destroys all drones on screen and deals massive damage to bosses.
Equip flash drives to gain a advantage against Erossite. Collect them by passing Wave 15, 30, and 40, or if you lose you get a flash drive to help you out.
To progress and unlock more maps, complete a Radar Calibration Puzzle. Scan for matching colors on a radar to fix all the panels. Don't choose the wrong ones or an error occurs.
The Story
Commander Malcolm leads Crossite (A private military) to the fight against Erossite (Another private military made to destroy what Crossite stands for) lead by Boss. Boss wants to destroy all world governments to create chaos because the world had given up on being good in his eyes. While Malcolm wants to do what he thinks is right and will stop anybody if they try to harm other people, he is relentless and will never give up if it means helping the world.
Malcolm notices how destructive Boss can be and with the help of Sergeant Omri at homebase, they work together to stop Boss. If there is one thing Malcolm and Boss can agree on it they will never use real soldiers or have anyone harmed, instead they use Material Crossite to make towers and weapons.
Will Boss keep to his morals in the conquest of destruction? Will Malcolm break and succumb to Erossite? Play to find out.
