This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Sancta is a dark, atmospheric experience set in an abandoned dungeon where light decides your survival. Explore the environment, solve puzzles, craft torches, and avoid long-forgotten enemies in a tense world of shadows and secrets.
About the GameSancta is not about endless hours of gameplay – it’s about delivering one powerful experience that keeps you engaged for an entire evening, like a dark film you live through yourself. It’s about intensity, emotion, and immersion rather than quantity, leaving you with a lasting memory long after the game is over.
Step into the darkness of an abandoned dungeon, where light means survival and every step could be your last. Sancta is a dark, atmospheric experience that traps you in a long-forgotten underground world, where the story is revealed through environmental details, shadows, and echoes of the past.
An unnamed protagonist finds themselves imprisoned deep beneath the earth, where reality intertwines with fear and madness. To survive, you must craft your own torch, protect it as your most precious possession, and seek refuge where you can rest, if only for a moment.
Enemies lurking in the dark are neither weak nor defeat-able. The only hope lies in stealth, hiding, and fleeing. Every item you find has value but is also fragile – nothing lasts forever. Mental resilience is as important as health and strength. The more fear your character experiences, the less they can craft, trade, and survive. Sancta is not just a game about escape. It’s a story about the will to survive, where darkness never sleeps. Explore a world shaped by light, shadow, and sound. Solve puzzles, hide from relentless enemies, and interact with a fragile, living environment where every step matters.

From crafting your first torch to finding safe places to rest – every step tests your foresight and resilience. Fragile items, mental endurance, and careful planning guide you through a tense and terrifying experience.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, Sancta delivers a visually striking, atmospheric experience that fully immerses players in a claustrophobic and intense underground adventure.
