This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
In "Spirit-Capture Net," guide a small spirit through a world of light and obstacles. Every move creates new barriers, making each puzzle more challenging. Experience unique self-blocking mechanics, clever level design, and a clean visual style. Outsmart yourself and find the way out!
Spirit-Capture Net is a single-player tactical puzzle game where every placement matters. You actively choose where to create silk threads that alter the play area: they can block routes, form bridges, or change how objects and spirits move. Successful play depends less on reflexes and more on forward planning — place threads to guide or trap targets, but beware: your own web can become an obstacle.
How it plays
Place silk threads on the board to connect points, block paths, or create new pathways.
Levels are designed to teach mechanics gradually and then combine them into trickier challenges.
Puzzles reward long-term thinking: anticipate how a thread will influence future moves and chain reactions.
Controls
WASD / Arrow keys – Move
Z – Undo last move
X – Cancel undo
R – Reset the level
Esc – Exit the level
Progression & goals
Advance through a campaign of handcrafted puzzles that introduce new mechanics and constraints over time.
Hints and undo options help players learn without frustration; optional harder modes test mastery.
Why you’ll enjoy it
Spirit-Capture Net is for players who like brainteasers, spatial puzzles, and planning several steps ahead. The core tension — using threads as tools while avoiding self-inflicted traps — creates satisfying “aha” moments when a plan comes together.
Key features
Tactical silk-thread placement with emergent interactions.
A progressive single-player puzzle campaign.
Optional challenge modes and a gentle hint system.
Clear goals per level and increasing complexity that rewards strategy.
Other
In fact, the underlying framework for a better version of this project has already been developed, but the overall quality has not improved significantly. Therefore, we have decided to indefinitely suspend further development of this project.
If there is an opportunity in the future, we hope this project can meet everyone again in a better form.
