Guide: Installing PaJinko on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is PaJinko? Features and Description

Drop eggs onto a pegboard and watch them collide, chain and pile into the goal for stars and rewards. A cozy hand-drawn coin-pusher with light roguelite upgrades, a lucky wheel for clutch boosts, brisk runs, and leaderboards to chase your personal best.

Game Overview
In this light, casual physics marble game, you drop little balls onto a pegboard and let them collide, chain, and pile up before rolling into the collection slot to convert into ⭐ score and rewards. We’ve mixed in a touch of roguelite elements: every run features different upgrade combos and random events—short runs, snappy feedback.

Worldbuilding
A little Chick has set up a “Lucky Egg Machine” in the barn—drop energy eggs from the sky into the glass chamber and they’ll jingle across the pegs, falling into the water to become stars and bonuses. The Chick dances and cheers you on; the wheel on the right is an ancient “blessing ritual.” Each night the Chick faces tougher pegboard layouts to see how much “good cluck” can be gathered today.

Core Gameplay

  • [Satisfying Physics] Click/press to drop eggs; collisions, bounces, and falls create chain gains.

[Light Roguelite] New upgrades and mini-events each run to shape your scoring plan.

[Lucky Wheel] At key moments, draw bonuses (extra stars, refills, increase mass, etc.).

[Short Runs] Quick sessions for bite-sized play; easy to pick up and pause anytime.

[Progressive Unlocks] Higher scores unlock more peg modules and upgrade options.

Features

  • Hand-drawn cozy style: clean 2D line art with a warm palette for a relaxing look.

Clear feedback: stars, chains, and rewards are shown neatly in the side UI.

Easy to play: primarily one button / mouse controls.

Leaderboards: track and compare your best scores (global/friends boards may be enabled during tests).

How to Play

  • Your goal is to earn as many stars as possible.

Eggs that eventually fall into the water grant EXP and stars.

When the EXP bar is full, you can choose an upgrade.

When balls drop into the three slots, the wheel spins to grant a reward.
