This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

However, only witches possess the knowledge and ability to create and cultivate cat familiars. In response to urgent requests, you decide to cultivate the perfect cat familiars to allow more people to own their very own magical companions.
Summoning and Creation:
Cat familiars possess a genetic pool and breed types similar to real cats, but with magical features like wings and halos—things real cats don't have. All of this follows the laws of genetics.
Through the witch's magic, you can combine the genes of any two cat familiars to create a new kitten! During this process, no harm will come to the cat familiars, thanks to the magic.
The game operates on real-time; each time a new cat familiar is summoned, it takes a different amount of real-world time to complete depending on the difficulty of the spell.
Bonding and Commissioning:
Most of the created cat familiars won't stay at the center permanently. They will either be sent to new homes through bonding, or you will receive commissions from dragons, elves, unknown lifeforms, and other witches. These clients have specific requests, hoping you'll create a cat familiar that meets their requirements.
Whether it's a successful bond or completing a commission, you'll receive generous rewards.
Personality Testing:
In bonding and commissions, you might encounter requests from clients who want their cats to have specific personalities. This is where the personality testing comes in! A quiet witch friend will accompany you throughout the process.

For us, Cat Familiar Center began with a small curiosity. Our studio cat is a little white cat with a hint of light orange. So, is it a white cat or an orange-and-white cat? Why is the orange part so small? With this curiosity, we delved into the genetics of cats and their physical traits, becoming fascinated by the vast and interesting world of genetics.
Most pea-type games (a genre where characters breed and grow) feature human protagonists. So, we wanted to create a pea-style game, but with kittens as the focus.
To safely research the genetics of cat familiars, we knew magic was necessary! And witches, naturally, are the beings who have spent the most time alongside cats. To ensure every cat familiar's health and safety, we set the game in a fantasy world, hoping to present a unique relationship between witches and cats.
