This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Build, manage and defend your fantasy tavern.

Tavernhold is a single-player mix of daylight inn-management and nighttime tower defense. Build up a profitable roadside tavern, gather the resources you need, and hold the line when undead waves march on your gate. Guard the inn—if it falls, your fight is over.

Hire your workers to assign them where they’re needed most: gathering food and timber, constructing new rooms and tables, repairing defenses, or manning the walls when night falls.
Feed travelers and rent out rooms to earn gold, then reinvest it into more workers, faster resource nodes, and stronger defenses.
Spend wood to add tables, guest rooms, spike traps, stronger gates, or new resource outposts. Decide what matters most before the night arrives!

A roguelike twist on every run.
Receive a random bonus at the start of each day that changes how you play.
As days pass, the chances of stronger bonuses increase, pushing you to adapt and plan ahead.

Design the battlefield your way.
Shape enemy paths, place defenses at key locations, and experiment with different strategies.
Watch your plans come together as each night puts your design to the test.

At night, place your workers onto the walls to shoot the enemies and take direct control of a giant ballista. Slow the undead horde with spike traps, pierce clustered enemies with well-placed bolts, and keep your enemies away from breaching the gate—too many slip through and it’s game over!

Advance through a branching research tree to strengthen your inn and defenses. Upgrade your rooms and tables to earn more gold, empower workers and traps for stronger defense, and enhance your ballista with new arrow types to hold back the undead army!

Unlock special arrow types and craft them for battle. Explosive bolts tear through clustered enemies, while frost bolts slow the horde—stock up and fire them at the perfect moment!

Every few nights, powerful bosses lead the undead army to your gates! Defend against them with upgraded defenses, crafted arrows, and careful worker placement.
Master the daily rhythm of gather-build-serve, then withstand each night’s siege to keep your tavern from falling!
