Guide: Installing Delivery Up on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Delivery Up? Features and Description

Delivery Up is a chaotic vertical platformer about a stunt courier who must climb 10,000 meters to deliver every order on time. Lose your footing — but don’t lose your backpack!

Who said being a courier is easy? In the world of Delivery Up, even gravity is against you. Your route leads through complex and unique segments — from steep mountain slopes to unstable sky-high structures. Every 1000 meters, a hungry NPC customer awaits: deliver the food, save your progress at the checkpoint, and climb even higher.

      The Golden Rule

Your backpack is your lifeline. Touch the ground with it twice, and it’ll fall — you’ll have to go back down to retrieve it, or your path to the next level will be blocked. Decide whether to push forward or play it safe.

      Hop on the Moped

Need speed? Instantly switch to a moped anytime to zoom past tricky sections. But be careful — riding in mid-air is even harder than walking.

      Key Features

      • Vertical Challenge: a game for those seeking trials in the spirit of only up — a constant climb where each mistake can cost you hundreds of meters. Jump, climb, and balance your way through 3D space.

      • Backpack Mechanics: two hits and your delivery falls. You’ll need to go back down or fail the mission.

      • Interactive Gameplay: moving platforms, traps, spinning objects, physics-based items, and even labyrinths to overcome on your way up.

      • Moped: instantly switch to a vehicle for quick maneuvers or long jumps.

      • Checkpoint Clients: deliver food to NPCs and save your progress to start from a new height after falling.

      • Time Capsules: collect special capsules to rewind time and undo mistakes.

      • Choose Your Style: from trainee mode with frequent saves and unlimited time capsules to express delivery with no saves and no rewinds. Perfect for both casual play and speedruns.

Prepare for a journey where every meter counts and every order has its own fate. Take on the challenge of Delivery Up and prove that the best path to a customer’s heart runs straight through the clouds!
