This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Here where the sun no longer can shine is a refuge of the last remaining humans from a war against machine, a war that was lost. Now each city scattered across the desert Earth holds a small group of people, tasked with one thing, bounty hunting. Under the law of machine any crime is a death sentence, unfortunately for humans, machines are incapable of breaking laws thus allowing for the extinction of mankind. Everything seems to be under way till a soldier from an even older war is suddenly revived in the desert. Accipitar is determined to do everything but follow orders with his new life and seeks to startup a war that never really ended. Join Acc and his new companions as they break down the cities government and uncover that their fight might just be an insignificant "game."
Crocosmia is a intricate neon-maze full of thieves and machines on every corner. There are no "alleys" or "streets" instead the city was made by machines into "Layers" and "Pads." Using your health as you light source navigate the machine city while keeping health high with companions or you might just find yourself alone in the dark.
Switch characters in and out of combat to choose which class is best for the fight at hand. During the story the character will switch to show different perspectives and give unique challenges.
Choose between 3rd person, 1st person and the unique cinematic action perspective as you traverse the city. 3rd is favored in combat while 1st for exploration but the choice is yours and all three are available to switch to at any point in and out of combat.
Earn weapons by defeating enemies and bosses. Enemies can drop a variety of weapons while bosses drop unique. Each weapon equipped will have an effect on the fight style as well as combo trees
Scroll, click and hold for some truly unique mouse combo trees. Test your click speed by tapping combos at double time during an overheat to do massive damage all while timing those scrolls just right.
