This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Got strong nerves? Reliable friends? Precise jumps? Then this is the place for you. And if not, try it anyway. It'll be fun. Probably.
When we said โwe're building a game for fun,โ we didn't think it would turn out like this.
IQ Under Construction is an escalating frenzy where you and your friends are connected by a mysterious energy (don't ask how it works โ we don't fully understand it ourselves). The main thing is not to stray too far from each other, otherwise... ready, set, go โ back to the beginning!
You start at the bottom and climb higher and higher, overcoming clever obstacles, jumping over dangerous structures, and screaming at each other in voice chat in a panic (if you want to, of course). This game is like friendship: if someone decides to go it alone, it's game over for everyone.
At first, everything is easy. Almost cute. But with each new location, the structure becomes more vicious. Jumping platforms, disappearing blocks, traps that were clearly invented by someone who was awake all night with no conscience.
You can't run around as you please โ the game world is against it. If someone flies too far, the whole team flies back. Fun, right?
The world is one, but the levels in it are completely different. Architecture, pace, traps โ everything is constantly changing so that you don't relax and think, โWell, now it will definitely be easier.โ
Want some peace and quiet? Play alone. Want chaos, laughter, screams, and moral support? The game supports up to 4 players online. The main thing is to remember: if one falls, everyone falls.
Colorful scenes, clear shapes, everything moves, shines, and teases you. Does the platform look simple? Suspicious. Check twice.
The soundtrack changes with you. Calm moments sound pleasant... and then the platform with millimeter jumps begins, and the sound abruptly ceases to be background noise.
