This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
On a rainy night, it's all up to you whether to show love or be cruel.
Game Introduction:
You're staying at your uncle's house as a guest, juggling high school studies and part-time work to save up some cash. At school and work, you'll meet all kinds of people: a junior who’s a bit creepy but always seems to follow you around, a senior who used to act like a prince but got demoted to your class, a really kind bookstore manager, and even a mysterious dog-person boxer. You can choose how to interact with them—be friendly, serious, or maybe even take advantage of the situation. It’s all up to you!
Character Introduction:
Yuexiang Lihua - She’s got cat-like features and can transform pretty well. Her last name comes from her mom. Her name fits perfectly with her brother’s, especially under the moonlight in the mountains where flowers bloom. After her family faced a tragedy, she ended up living with her uncle. Right now, she’s just a regular high school student trying to make ends meet while saving for college.
(The character played by the player cannot have its name changed due to the plot requirements, but a nickname or pet name can be customized.)
Playable Character Introductions:
Meixing Ji- He’s an orc with salamander-like abilities and can transform quite a bit. He’s a rich kid who just transferred to Orchid Middle School. His family doesn’t seem to care much about him, so he’s pretty quiet and shy. But don’t underestimate him—he’s incredibly persistent when he sets his mind on something. Once he latches onto you, it’s hard to shake him off. Kind of like morning glory vines that won’t let go unless... well, you know.
Fenghe She- He’s got snake-like qualities and can transform too. He’s like a prince at Orchid High School, super smart and doing great in school. But then he failed an important exam in his senior year and got moved down to your class. One day, you accidentally found out he has pica (yeah, eating weird stuff). Since becoming your classmate, he’s been acting extra interested in you, even writing you this strange love letter. What’s going on with him?
Yushan Jiao - She’s another orc, but she’s really good at transforming. She runs the Moonlight Bookstore and is like a big sister figure—kind and caring. But sometimes, she feels distant, like looking at a mountain through fog.
Shanye Lihua- This one’s a beastman with canine features and not much transformation ability. He’s a new boxer in the underground arena, mysterious and cold. But when you see him, you feel strangely close to him. Turns out, he’s actually your long-lost brother who was kidnapped years ago. Now, he’ll stick by you no matter what—as a lover or as a brother.
Game Type and Play Method:
This is a Yotsuba AVG visual novel. Your choices will lead to different endings, with lots of branches and twists. Every decision you make affects what happens next.
