Guide: Installing Weed Wacker Warrior on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Weed Wacker Warrior is a Top-Down, 2D, Action game following George and Ken, two college students working a summer job, as they fend off an invasion of evil yard weeds attacking their town. Use common yard tools such as Weed Wackers, Lawn Mowers, and Axes to fight off dozens of weeds all while being forced to perform mundane work tasks by their boss.

          Story:

George and Ken are working a normal, 90 degree workday at their summer job, when suddenly the weeds surrounding them come to life and begin to attack them, draining all of the water and moisture from their body as they are hit. The boys quickly learn to fight off the weeds using their tools with the help of their mentors and coworkers, Jimbo and Hughbert, and begin to fend off onslaughts of weeds created by the evil god Viridian. George and Ken face multiple types of common garden weeds at different locations in their town, all while trying to set up and prepare for the towns annual 4th of July summer festival, and facing the expectations of their boss and mayor of the town, V.V.

Enjoy a story filled with fun jokes, cheesy one liners, and unexpected twists and turns when you least expect it!

          Your Tools:

Lawn Mowers are quick moving and rapid damage dealing tools great for taking out smaller weeds that grow in large groups.

Axes are slow to swing, often needing to charge up to attack, but pack a huge punch. Larger weeds never stand a chance against them.

Experiment with different combinations of tools that George and Ken come up with!

          The work day:

Despite facing unprecedented evil, there's still work to be done, and no money in the budget to dilly dally. George and Ken have to complete daily work such as cutting normal grass, picking up trash, and setting up decorations for the festival.

And don't worry, you're still only paid minimum wage!

Meet a variety of crazy characters that live in the township, and even help some of them along the way. Many of these characters may even help you find secrets, or aid you on your journey. And at the end of the day, sometimes you need to kick back, whether its grabbing a drink at the gas station, going fishing, or taking care of your pet goose, there's always plenty to do in the town of Township.
