This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Moonvile is an asymmetric PvP game that you can play with your friends, for 2 to 12 players. Become a Hunter and hunt your friends, or become a Mage and work together to open the portals and escape from this dark realm.
The Hunt Begins
Moonvile is an asymmetrical PvP game for up to 12 players where Hunters and Wizards face off. The goal of the Hunters is to hunt down the Wizards before they can open the portals. Wizards, on the other hand, attempt to escape this dark land by collecting hidden books and items across the map to open the portals.
In each game, you make a choice: Become a Hunter, and chase down your opponents to eliminate them… or become a Wizard, and use your wits to survive and escape.
What Do Wizards Do?
Wizards collect magic books and potions scattered across the map.
Magic books represent the abilities of the Wizards. By using these books, you can defend yourself and fight back against the Hunters. Potions are the key to opening the portals. Every potion you gather from the environment fills the Magic Power bar. When the bar is completely full, the portals open, revealing an escape route from Moonvile.
★ At the start of the game, the amount of Magic Power required to open the portals can be set by the host.
What Do Hunters Do?
The objective of the Hunters is to prevent the Wizards from opening the portals and escaping, and to hunt them down.
At the beginning of the game, they choose their own set of spells based on the map. They play with this spell set and their chosen character throughout the match. They stop and capture the Wizards, eliminating them by placing them in the Soul Furnace.
Blood Moon
The Blood Moon is a special, recurring event during the game.
The Blood Moon begins when there are 50 seconds of silence. During this time, the Wizards' vision is restricted, and their heartbeats become audible to the Hunters. This makes the Wizards easy targets. Hiding is useless in this phase; Wizards must fight to survive. During the Blood Moon, magic books and potions disappear completely and do not return until the Blood Moon ends.
The Soul Furnace
Soul Furnaces are places where Hunters can imprison Wizards. When a Wizard is imprisoned in a Soul Furnace, if they remain there for too long, they are eliminated permanently, never to return.
But there is still hope: They can be rescued if other Wizards help before time runs out. If a Hunter lingers near the Soul Furnace for too long, the pressure may allow the Wizard to break free by their own will. The Soul Furnace is the Hunters' most powerful weapon and the Wizards' greatest fear.
