Guide: Installing ウエステリア戦記 on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is ウエステリア戦記? Features and Description

This product is a country theft strategy game set in a fictional modern world. At the end of the "Age of Quietness," the faraway world of "Westarea" descends into a great war in which guns, artillery, swords, and magic intersect. In there caos, what kind of story do you desire and see?

The people of the continent of Westeria, a world somewhat reminiscent of Earth, have emerged from the great chaos of the past to form the current group of nations and establish a stable order.

The world has forgotten about war, and it seemed as if the "Age of Quietness" would continue forever.

However, distortions gradually appeared in the governance of each country.

And ultimately, a coup d'état in a kingdom in the Far East brought a return to the long-awaited age of war once again.

Bringing together all the power they have, be it guns and cannons, swords and magic, history and technology, all the nations of the Westarea continent are on the brink of war.

          ■ Game system

This game is a derivative of the strategy game "Vahrentuga", which consists of a turn-based strategy phase and an RTS-style tactical phase set in the Westarea continent, a world slightly similar to Earth.

The purpose of the basic game is to expand your territory and use the income from that territory to take advantage of the battle and keep your army alive until the end of the story.

In addition, you must achieve the victory conditions set for each story.

          ■ Strategy phase

In the Strategic Phase, you can hire soldiers, select territories to attack, deploy defense forces, and improve territories as use special compartments.

You can gain an advantage in battle by assessing the situation of your enemies and allies, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your own forces, and making appropriate preparations.

          ■ Tactical phase

During the tactical phase, RTS-style battles are waged combining diverse military units.

Your tactics can easily overturn sometimes inferior situations.

          ■ About operability

Basic operations can be performed with just the mouse and space key,

and in the tactical phase, you can operate each unit while pausing the game at any time.

          ■ Difference between this product and"ShemHaMephorash"

"Records of Westarea War" is the predecessor to the fictional 19th century fantasy strategy game "ShemHaMephorash", and there are many similarities in terms of game balance.

However, compared to ShemHaMephorash, this game has more complex military elements and requires more precise and steady tactical operation.

This game also does not have district administration, and the strategy elements are somewhat simple.

Also, unfortunately, we currently have no plans to officially localize this game into languages other than Japanese.
