This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Running an international organization called the Global Quarantine Bureau, dealing with pandemics and public health issues worldwide, while also ensuring increasing revenue and personal enrichment.
This is a simulation management game where you run an international organization called "Global Quarantine Bureau," managing global public health and pandemic affairs. You can construct different functional floors in your headquarters building, allowing you to perform corresponding tasks:
Archive Room: Participate in investigating global public health events.
Disease Identification Center: Identify newly emerging diseases worldwide.
Medical Expert Office: Dispatch medical experts to form teams supporting countries around the world.
Supply Warehouse: Provide international humanitarian aid to countries affected by pandemics.
Policy Research Center: Assist affected regions in formulating public health policies.
Vaccine Research Center: Conduct vaccine research.
... Your headquarters building has a total of eleven different functions waiting to be discovered in the game.
Your funding comes from donations by countries worldwide. By providing public health services to different countries, you can receive donations from them. You need to carefully plan the use of these funds. Factors such as a country's population, GDP, integrity, efficiency, economy, technology, regional strength, and public sentiment and perception of your institution will influence the amount of funding you can raise. If a country's population sharply decreases due to an epidemic, the funds you can raise will also significantly decrease.
You also need to hire various professionals, personally interviewing them to decide whether to recruit them. Some candidates are highly capable, while others may bring disaster to your institution.
Due to limited human resources, you must decide which global public health events your institution should participate in. Randomly dispatching personnel to too many events may lead to dispersed efforts and delays in raising funds.
Every story has another side. As the manager of such an important institution, you will often receive invitations for private meetings. Representatives from different organizations and countries will request decisions that benefit them. Besides the salary from the institution, this is your main way to grow personal wealth. As for the consequences of these decisions, sometimes you may not care...
You can also choose to meet with national leaders, persuading them in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere to gain more benefits for your institution.
You might need to use your own money to win over committee members who vote on decisions. If their favor is too low, they will oppose all your decisions, making it difficult for you to make any progress.
The game features over 100 real diseases that can randomly break out in countries worldwide. The cases and mortality rates caused by diseases are designed based on real situations. In the game, you will see a country's population and GDP significantly decline due to disease outbreaks, potentially turning into a land with zero population.
There are dozens of different events in the game, covering various aspects of public health. Some are serious, while others are humorous, and they will gradually unlock as you progress in the game.
