This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
SimShock2025 is a free, bilingual (EN/ES) hemodynamic shock simulator. Treat cardiogenic, hemorrhagic, and septic shock using real drugs and interventions. Written in PureBasic, available for Mac and Windows. Apple-signed and notarized.
SimShock2025 is a shock simulation game.
This is a game based on hemodynamic simulation of shock. It is based on real pathophysiology, but with numerous liberties to make it playable and fun.
There are 3 disease modes: Hypertensive cardiogenic shock, Hemorrhagic shock and Distributive shock. They are initiated by pressing their respective buttons: Heart Failure, Hemorrhage, and Shock.
There are 9 therapeutic buttons: Dopamine, Furosemide, Nitroglycerin, Saline (0.9% saline solution), Amiodarone, Propranolol, Desfibrillator, Transfuse and Antibiotics
The player can start the simulation by clicking on the Heart Failure, Hemorrhage, or Distributive Shock buttons. Then, using the therapeutic buttons, the goal is to stabilize and cure the patient.
During gameplay, cardiac arrest events may occur, requiring immediate defibrillation.
In cases of hemorrhage, transfusions are necessary to achieve recovery.
In septic shock, you will need to prescribe the correct antibiotics to treat the infection.
If you find it complicated, you can call the ICU, which, depending on the patient's age and bed availability, will take them away... or maybe not.
There are several additional controls available:
Turn the vital signs monitor on or off.
Display a background image on the monitor (right-click on the vital signs monitor).
Reset the game using the green button on the ECG and respiratory monitor.
Switch between different doctors and mute the heartbeat sound by clicking on the doctor image.
Adjust simulation speed with a slider available only on Macintosh. (This feature could not be programmed for Windows.)
The game is available in both English and Spanish: You can switch languages manually by pressing the specific language button inside the game.
The game was written in PureBasic on Apple Macintosh, and compiled for Mac and Windows.
This game is signed and notarized by Apple, so it should open without any security warnings.
The software is free.
