This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Raidbound is a Viking-themed auto-battler with a worker placement style system. Recruit warriors, forge gear, sacrifice for power, and raid rival clans. Choose your path, build your warband, and earn glory across a mythic map of tactical choices.
A Tactical Viking Auto-Battler with Roguelite Worker Placement
In Raidbound, you lead a clan of fearless Vikings through a mythic gauntlet of combat, sacrifice, and divine favor. This is no idle expedition—each decision shapes the fate of your warband.
Recruit your warriors from the Tavern, train them in the ways of battle, and prepare them for war. Infuse them with ancient runes, forge legendary weapons, or sacrifice them to strengthen the clan. Once your energy for the year is spent, you must Raid—battling another player’s clan in asynchronous auto-combat.
Between battles, travel across a living map of strategic Nodes. Each offers a different boon—or risk. The road to glory is yours to choose.
Each Viking joins your clan with a unique ability and one of four roles:
Raider, Warden, Berserker, or Skirmisher.
Roles create synergies—like Wardens granting bonus armor when grouped.
You can equip up to 4 abilities per Viking, unlocked by infusing them with Runes.
Combat is fully automated, but strategic: Vikings attack based on speed, targeting (frontline, backline, or random), and ability loadout.
Lose a Raid, and you lose a life. When you’re out—your run ends.
Every run, choose from a variety of hero powers that shape your overall strategy.
Passives range from tank-saving effects to formation-breaking wildcards.
Stack buffs, status effects, and rune enhancements to create emergent combos across your Vikings.
Replay value comes from mixing heroes, drafting new powers, and discovering devastating synergy chains.
Earn and equip powerful Runes to augment your Vikings with effects like:
Burn, poison, bleed, freeze, haste, armor, and more.
Equipment is consumable power boosts.
Build run-specific loadouts to adapt to enemy types and draft RNG.
Fight through a series of PvE and PvP rounds, each more intense than the last.
Losing a PvP battle costs lives — but clever planning ensures you stay in the fight.
Each victory earns rewards and choices that evolve your strategy for the next encounter.
Runs end when all Vikings fall… or you become the top Jarl.
