Guide: Installing Corridor Exit 8 on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Corridor Exit 8? Features and Description

A first-person psychological horror game based on tension and perception testing. You walk through an endless corridor, noticing anomalies around you and trying to make the right decision at every step. Escape is possible with eight correct choices, but one mistake will start everything over.

Can You Trust Your Eyes? Welcome to the Endless Corridor

Corridor Exit 8 is a first-person psychological horror experience that invites you to question your senses, your instincts, and even your sanity. Set in an eerily realistic corridor that stretches endlessly, your only mission is simple—or so it seems. Walk forward, observe your surroundings, and decide: is something... off? A flickering light, a misplaced object, a door that shouldn’t be open—spot the anomaly, turn back. If everything feels right, keep going. But be warned: make one wrong call, and you're sent back to the beginning. Every step forward is a test. Every step backward is a lifeline. You’ll need to make eight correct decisions in a row to escape. Easy, right?

This game is not about running from monsters or hiding in lockers. It's about subtlety, perception, and the creeping feeling that something is fundamentally wrong. You won’t find cheap jump scares here—only the haunting tension of a space that quietly changes around you. With hyper-realistic visuals and a minimalist design, Corridor Exit 8 strips horror down to its most psychological form. There's no map. No help. Just you, the corridor, and your own senses slowly turning against you.

Whether you're a seasoned horror fan looking for something fresh or a newcomer ready to dip your toes into psychological thrills, Corridor Exit 8 offers a bite-sized but intense experience. Perfect for late-night sessions with headphones on and lights off. Your heartbeat becomes the soundtrack, your instincts the controller. Will you trust them? Will you escape? Or will the corridor claim another victim?
