This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Join Don Rano in his adventure! A platformer in which you will have to use the bubbles of the stage, and the ones you create, in order to reach the most difficult platforms. Will you try to go as fast as possible? Or will you take it at your own pace? You decide!
In “Anura” you are Don Rano, a frog with the mission to cross the swamp jumping from platform to platform, dodging obstacles and using bubbles to propel himself as far as possible. Thanks to his bubble-blower, you will be able to create bubbles that will help you get to places you didn't think you would be able to reach
Even if some platforms seem far away, you can use the bubbles on the stage to jump on them and propel yourself further. But be careful! The bubbles are fragile, and will break as soon as you touch them.
Sometimes it may seem impossible to get to the other side, but don't worry, because Don Rano always carries his bubble-blower on his back, so blow up and create the bubbles you need to reach the end!
It doesn't only matter how fast you get to the end, it also matters how fast you can do it! Explore all the levels and try to beat yourself with each new attempt. Will you be the fastest frog in the whole swamp?
Think you are the fastest frog? Think again! With the online leaderboards you will be able to go up against other players, or your friends to check who has completed the game the fastest. And even individual levels!
How far will you be able to get by using Don Rano's powers? Will you be able to reach the end of his adventure and find out why he had to travel through the swamp? And most importantly, will you be the fastest to do it?
