This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Min-Maxing Challenge: Different builds for every occasion
Unlike traditional RPG-s where you build your character in a certain way throughout the playthrough, in Soul Cauldron each dungeon will have highly different challenges that no single build will be good against. The build that you used to easily run the previous Dungeon will have you killed on arrival in the next one.
Instead, you completely reequip your character with items and spells that suit the specific challenge.
Divine your future to survive
Since you need to equip for each new challenge, knowing what to expect is the difference between life or death. Your witches will painstakingly divine information about dungeons to reveal enemy strengths, weaknesses, notable items, and how will breaching the dungeon further empower the Blight. Powerful witches can even unlock powerful bonus effects to help you survive the dungeon.
Decisions, Decisions
Maybe you divine the presence of the recipe for a potion of Celestial Mending in a pit full of Fire Demons. Will you risk entering when you're missing a good fire resistant armor? You could use that potion to survive the venom attacks of the creatures in the Dark Bog. If you could survive that Bog, its guardian holds the Astral Spellblade you need to complete your Fiend slaying item set.
How many souls can you collect to fuel your cauldron?
On the battered continent of Ique, the only true currency is souls. Venture out into the wilderness, fight monsters, craft spells, brew potions and utilize almost infinite combos from six schools of magic to build your coven!
Collect your Sisters, slay the avatar of the Blight and claim it's soul so you may found the greatest coven to ever exist!
Fight your way through dungeons, swamps and ruins infested by pirate gangs, cults, demons, undead, arcane entities and other horrors; and harvest their souls to increase your power.

Semi-procedural itemization will give you unending tools and combinations to accomplish your goal, but beware: you will face greater and more powerful enemies along the way!
Use your powers of divination to gather information on dungeons before you enter, and outfit your witch with great care so she may have a chance at survival.
Find your lost sisters and save them from the clutches of the enemy so they can join your cause!
