This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Heroic Songs: the Remix! is an Idol × City-Building Simulation Game where you help develop a land known as the Void while guiding the main heroine, Akari Sunohara, on her journey to become an idol. Build roads and facilities, attract new residents, and transform this desolate world into a vibrant Fanctuary worthy of the spotlight!
With over 50 unique buildings, you'll have plenty of ways to shape your city!
- Basic Facilities such as houses to attract Fans, and roads to connect your buildings
- Production Facilities, placed around resource tiles and visited by Fans to gather materials
- Processing Facilities, which convert one type of resource into another as a result of Fan visits
- Recreational Facilities, where resources are spent to generate Likes, a key progression resource
You can also earn Likes through Tours, or the rhythm-based Concerts described below.
As you progress, you’ll unlock building styles inspired by the other worlds you visit—fantasy, sci-fi, Japanese, and modern-day aesthetics. And don’t forget to check out the diverse designs of your Fans, who arrive from across the multiverse to support their oshi! ♪
By constructing personal stages, idols will perform for their Fans by singing and dancing in town! Idols with stages become available for Concerts and Tours, and will boost the surrounding buildings whenever they’re present.
As idols gain experience from performances, their levels rise—enhancing those building effects even further! You can also assign skill points to customize how their influence spreads across your city. ;)
Concerts are short, 30-second rhythm games. Keep in time with the music to hit the target score and clear the stage! Successful Concerts will unlock new story content, boost idol and Fan experiences, and provide rewards. Some idols will also unlock alternate stage outfits as you progress through the game.
Progress through successful concerts, construction projects, and city development to unlock new chapters in the story.
Follow Akari Sunohara—an ordinary girl with a love for idols—as she discovers her true calling. Dive deeper into each of the five main heroines in dedicated Character Stories, and experience each idol’s unique charm!

You were just enjoying a concert by the legendary top idol Ruri Tsukuyomi… and then you woke up in a strange, unfamiliar world.
Rescued by Akari Sunohara, a cheerful girl with a deep love for idols, and guided by Moku-san, a flower spirit, you learn the shocking truth: you and Akari have fallen into a mysterious dimension called the Void, and there's no way home—at least, not yet.
Your only hope lies in Akari’s hidden potential as an idol. In this world, idols are more than performers—they’re beacons of hope and the key to restoring lost connections between realms. But Akari can’t do it alone. She needs your support.
To return home together, you’ll need to build a city in the Void—an idol sanctuary known as Fanctuary that will light the way!

You’re the one who was transported to the Void alongside Akari. As the central figure in this world, your role is to support Akari and the other idols on their journey.

An ordinary girl with an extraordinary love for idols. She possesses the innate potential to become one herself, and must step into the spotlight to find a way home.
At first, she struggles with doubt and frustration, but grows through her encounters with veteran idols and her fans in the fantasy worlds.

● Ruri Tsukuyomi / voiced by: Risae Matsuda
The Ultimate Idol, reigning at the top with an overwhelming presence and voice. Her legacy echoes throughout the various fantasy worlds Akari explores.

● Lynalelle Singulant / voiced by: Hitomi Sekine
The idol of Seven Falls, a fantasy-themed world. She’s a king, an idol, and a passionate idol superfan all in one!

● Haru / voiced by Yuka Amemiya
The idol of Discordia, a sci-fi-themed world. She’s a trusted senior to Akari, but seems to be hiding some complicated circumstances.

● Kaguya / voiced by Risae Matsuda
The idol of Karan Ashihara, a world with a traditional Japanese aesthetic. As the wild and fearsome Behemoth of Befoulment, she stands in Akari’s path as a powerful rival.
