This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Versetender is a narrative bartending game where you serve drinks across multiple worlds—medieval taverns, cyberpunk clubs, and distant space stations. a chill game to play on the side, shaping the fate of travelers, outlaws, and wanderers. Mod-friendly and choice-driven.
A drink can change a life. A story can change a world.
brought to you by a solo dev.
You are a bartender, but not in just one place or time. You exist across worlds, serving drinks in settings that shift with each new story. One night, you might be pouring ale in a medieval tavern. The next, you're mixing cocktails in a neon-lit cyberpunk club or a distant space station. Every location brings new faces, new conflicts, and new choices.
Wanderers, outlaws, diplomats, rogue AIs, sorcerers, and mercenaries all come seeking something—sometimes a drink, sometimes something more. Your presence shapes their paths, whether you realize it or not.
Will you simply listen, or will you guide their fate?
Every drink you mix influences the conversation. Some bring out the truth, others cloud judgment. The right choice could reveal a secret, mend a relationship, or push someone down a darker path.
From mercenaries and rogue AIs to wandering mages and exiled nobles, each patron carries a unique story. Some are searching for answers, others are running from the past. How their journey unfolds depends on the choices you make.
Every decision affects how a character’s story develops. Will you offer comfort, challenge their beliefs, or remain neutral? The consequences ripple beyond the bar, shaping events in ways you might not expect.
Players can create their own worlds, characters, and stories. Versetender is built for expansion, allowing custom settings, races, and narratives through external files. Whether you want to add new characters or entire new dimensions, it is as easy as just dragging and dropping .
Set the atmosphere with an in-game jukebox featuring music tailored to different environments. Players can also import their own tracks to enhance the experience.
Some customers just need a drink. Others are searching for something deeper.
