This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

Acrana Famiglia is an autonomous organization that protects the small island of Regalo in the Mediterranean Sea.
Those who belong to the Famiglia have a mysterious power called Arcana, which they use to protect the island from outside enenmies.
Felicita (main character/name can be changed), the only daughter of the organization's boss Mondo, has only just taken her first steps as a member of the family.
April 1st. It's Mondo's birthday. At a party thrown for him by the family, he makes a surprising announcement.
Mondo: "Two months from now...June 1. We'll hold the Arcana Duello!"
Mondo: "The winner of the Duello will become the leader of the organization...and as the new Papa, they will wed my daughter."
This is Felicita's story, as she fights to win the Arcana Duello in order to change her own destiny.
Felicita: "My path...is for me to decide."
Arcana Famiglia
The vigilante-like organization that the protagonist belongs to. Her father, Mondo, is the boss of the organiation, and is referred to as Papa. His wife Sumire is also referred to as Mama.
Within the family, there are members who gain special abilities called Arcana by forming a contract with Tarocco.
The organization is divided into an intelligence department that also handles diplomacy, and four departments that maintain public order on the island, and sometimes work with the island's lord to take charge of self-governance and security on Regalo Island.
In each Serie (department), there are people with titles such as "King", "Queen", "Knight", and "Page", each with around 10 subordinates who support their respective executives."
Arcana Abilities
Making a contract with the Tarocco, a card that holds mysterious power, can grant abilities known as Arcana.
Currently, no new contracts are being made for the 22 cards that comprise the Major Arcana.
Those who make contracts with the Major Arcana are also called hosts, and make a mark (Stigmata) engraved somewhere on their body as proof of the contract.
Almost all of the other family members have physical abilities that are greater than those of an ordinary person, thanks to simple contracts formed with the Minor Arcana.
Tarocco
A mysterious card deck that was unsealed by Mondo.
Through Mondo's contract with The World card, it protects the peace of the island of Regalo from outside threats.
Though it grants abilities that normal people do not possess, it seems there is also a price to pay for those abilities.
