This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
"Awaken the Forbidden Flavors of the Gods!" Join Lanya, the adorable and charming chef-hero, on a forbidden culinary adventure in another world! Hunt, gather, and cook to grow stronger and challenge the authority of the gods. Cooking is freedom! A roguelike action RPG to satisfy everyone's tastes!
One peaceful day, while running a restaurant with her retired parents,
Lanya is suddenly engulfed by a strange light and transported to another world.
The land she crash-lands in is cursed by the gods, where cooking has been forbidden.
Immune to the gods’ curse, Lanya becomes the only chef in this world.
Show the people a variety of flavors in this land where cooking is banned, reclaim the freedom of taste stolen by the gods, and embark on a journey to find your way home.
Each field is home to its own unique monsters.
Hunt them to gather ingredients, and collect resources through logging and mining to continue your journey.
The “Gifts” earned in battle grant you temporary strength during expeditions but vanish once you return.
However, the resources you bring back can be used to strengthen your weapons and crafting, allowing you to grow little by little.
Short expeditions and small victories will accumulate into the strength you need to venture further into the world.
Prepare for expeditions or craft snacks at camps scattered throughout the land. Choose your ingredients freely and create your own recipes.
But remember—Lanya has a small appetite and can’t eat much at once.
Keep an eye on Fullness when preparing snacks.
Snacks can provide various buffs, and special snacks found during expeditions may grant unique effects when eaten.
When your journey ends, use the leftover ingredients to serve meals to the people.
Grill steaks the traditional way, roast skewers, or simmer hearty soups to win over your customers.
The money you earn will become the fuel that drives your next adventure.

Why did the Gods of Taste strip people of the joy of flavor and cooking?
Defeat the guardians that protect them, confront the gods themselves, and uncover the hidden secrets of this world.
Reclaim the freedom of cooking, and set out on the journey that may reveal the way for Lanya to return to her original world.
