This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
In this horror game, mysterious hands drag the hero underground, and the player's task is to get out to the surface to return to your usual work. All the action of the game takes place in dark and stuffy tunnels, in the absence of light.
There's an urban legend, if you're obsessed with regret, you might meet a man with no arms one day in a thunderstorm. And if you see him, you'll soon be pulled underground by an unknown force.
No one has ever heard of anyone escaping from these tunnels of despair. Or are you saying you could be the first?
In this psychological horror game, you are drawn into dark, dank tunnels where every step is accompanied by the cold touches of sinister hands. They reach out to you from the darkness, trying to drag you deeper, into the depths of your own consciousness, full of regrets and worries. Your goal is simple, but agonizing - to get to the surface and return to your life. But will you succeed?
In the dark depths of the tunnels, light is your only ally. Explore tangled corridors, wade through fear and despair, avoid reaching hands and make sure you don't linger too long in the darkness. Each encounter with these ghostly fingers is not just a threat to life, but a reminder of bitter regrets that the hero tried hard to forget.
Game Features:
Gloomy atmosphere: Soak up the pressurizing atmosphere of dark tunnels, where light barely saves you from the darkness creeping towards you.
Tense gameplay: Balance between light and shadow, think through every move, find shelters and escape routes.
Deep symbolism: Hands are not just enemies, but the embodiment of regrets that are so hard to escape from. The game environment tells you a story - a story of fears, loss, and self-awareness.
Metaphorical overtones: Every element of the game is steeped in symbolism. It's not just about survival, but delving into the dark corners of the human mind.
