Guide: Installing Flesh Made Fear on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Flesh Made Fear? Features and Description

Tank controls. Fixed cameras. Pure Terror. Set in a haunting world of twisted experiments and occult nightmares, this game brings back the survival horror mechanics you know and love while pushing the genre into terrifying new depths.

          Dare to Survive

From the creators of indie horror hits Massacre at the Mirage, Suffer the Night, and Terror at Oakheart, comes Flesh Made Fear, the ultimate survival horror experience by Tainted Pact Games.

Descend into a world of horrifying experiments and occult rituals where every step plunges you deeper into madness. Featuring the survival mechanics that define the genre, reimagined with heart-stopping innovations, this game invites you to confront your fears like never before.

Will you face the nightmare? Or will the nightmare consume you?

          Classic Horror, Reimagined

Flesh Made Fear pays homage to the PSX-era survival horror that defined a generation. Drawing inspiration from the original Resident Evil trilogy, it masterfully blends intricate puzzles, heart-pounding combat, and a dread-filled atmosphere. But this isn’t just a nostalgic throwback—it’s a bold evolution. Modernized controls, immersive cinematics, and a gripping story will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last moment.

Take on the role of an elite operative in the Reaper Intervention Platoon (R.I.P.), a covert task force deployed to neutralize Victor “The Dripper” Ripper—a brilliant but deranged former CIA agent. His sinister experiments have turned a desolate backwater town into a nightmare filled with grotesque monsters and mind-controlled thralls.

Your mission is clear: eliminate Ripper, unravel his chilling secrets, and survive the horrors lurking in his mansion-turned-laboratory.

Are you ready to step into the darkness?

Classic Survival Horror Meets Modern Innovations

          • Fixed and Dynamic Camera Angles: Relive the tension of classic fixed perspectives, seamlessly blending into modern rail and follow camera dynamics.

          • Limited Saves: Strategically save your progress using collectible items.

          • Inventory Management: Tactically manage limited inventory slots with access to safe room storage.

          • Puzzle-Driven Narrative: Engage with intricate puzzles intertwined with the story, unlocking hidden secrets and new areas.

          Two Playable Characters

          • Choose between Natalie (less health, larger inventory) or Jack (greater health, smaller inventory).

          • Each character offers unique stats and storylines, enhancing replayability.

          Terrifying Monsters & Arsenal

          • Face grotesque abominations born of Ripper’s twisted experiments.

          • Arm yourself with weapons like pistols and grenade launchers, but beware—ammo is limited, challenging your resourcefulness.
