Guide: Installing Liege of the Labyrinth on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Liege of the Labyrinth? Features and Description

Can you guide your party through all 20 floors of The Labyrinth and defeat its Liege in this turn-based roguelike RPG? As their Guardian, the party will be counting on your to plan ahead and work around unexpected encounters.

Liege of the Labyrinth is a turn-based roguelike RPG. You are The Guardian, tasked with the destruction of the realm called The Labyrinth by the Gods. Although you are unable to directly intervene, with each run you will start with a randomly generated party.

Your Liber Labyrinthus will collect the knowledge of the friends and foes you've come across in each attempt. Your wits and ability to adapt to the unknown will be your most important tools.

 A LABYRINTH TO EXPLORE

The Labyrinth is filled with treasures, monsters, and even a few friendly faces. Smart resource management is the key to surviving and conquering The Labyrinth. You can fight or avoid monsters, do you risk the death or injury of a party member for the experience and loot that victory will provide? When meeting with other explorers of this realm, will you trade peacefully with them or take what you want by force or trickery? One thing is certain: the longer you spend on a floor, the risk of more dangerous adversaries grows stronger.

Your only respite will be the mysterious tavern that appears between floors to give you a place to rest, learn new spells, buy items, and recruit new members.

 DEADLY COMBAT

Will you be able to make it though all 20 levels and kill the Liege?

  • Turn-Based: Each turn every character gets Action Points to move, attack, use spells, and special abilties.

  • Resource Management: Hit Points and Willpower will be drained by the rigors of combat and you'll need to balance your offensive with more cautious tatics.

  • Deadly Monsters: Enemies will show you no mercy on the battlefield.

  • Lasting Consequences: When a character is reduced to 0 Hit Points they will probably die, but sometimes will survive while gaining an injury that permanently reduces their effectiveness.
