Guide: Installing Pushing it! Together - Sisyphus Co-op on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Pushing it! Together - Sisyphus Co-op? Features and Description

Roll a boulder up a hill with your friends, in this Online Co-op adventure based off the ancient Myth of Sisyphus.

An online co-op game about pushing a boulder up a hill with your friends.

Pushing It! Together is a multiplayer successor to Pushing it! With Sisyphus, a difficult and punishing game inspired by Greek mythology, where you play as Sisyphus - a man cursed to an eternity of rolling a boulder up a mountain, destined to never reach the top.

But this time, you're not alone anymore.

It won't always be easy between you, and sometimes there may be some fighting. But your job is to learn how to work past your differences, to work as a team. Towards one common goal: Pushing it! Together.

Push the boulder by walking/running into it together, and try to reach the top, collecting hats and boulder skins along the way. Be careful though, as a ton of obstacles, surprises, and friendships awaits you ahead. Try not to fall, as a single bad slip is all it takes to be back at the beginning.

  • Roll a boulder up a hill in lobbies of 2-4 people. You can also try solo, but good luck with that!

  • Collect hats and boulder skins

  • Slap your teammates to put them in thier place

  • Lose all your progress at a single slip, and have no one to blame but yourself. Or your teammates. Yeah, it was totally thier fault this time!

  • Experience levels of frustration not previously thought possible as you restrain yourself from killing each other.

  • Keep pushing.

  • Realize the true treasure isn't the reward at the top, but the friendships you made along the way.

Unlike in the previous game, there's hope this time.

Because you're not alone anymore. You've got each other.
