Guide: Installing Maestro Level Editor on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Maestro Level Editor? Features and Description

Maestro Level Editor is both a Virtual Symphony Simulator and a Level Editor for Maestro VR. Customize your orchestra, mix real audio tracks, and sync realistic animations. Design rhythmic levels and share your creations on Steam Workshop. Conduct your own music!

Maestro Level Editor is the ultimate tool to bring your music to life. It serves both as a complete Virtual Symphony Orchestra Simulator and as a powerful Level Editor for creating content for Maestro VR and upcoming games in the Maestro saga by Symphonic Games.

  • Create Your Virtual Symphony Orchestra: Choose from multiple concert halls with unique acoustics and configure your ensemble. Edit each instrument track by track, loading your own audio files (MP3/OGG) to place them in 3D space. Use individual tracks (STEMS) for maximum control or simulate an orchestra from stereo recordings for a unique immersive journey.

  • Hybrid & Realistic Animation: Watch your virtual orchestra perform in real time. Animate musicians manually with drag-and-drop icons, or use the Smart Animation system to generate movements automatically from audio. For professional precision, import a MIDI file to sync bow strokes and fingerings with every note, and enjoy customizable lip-sync for the choir.

  • Create Levels for Maestro VR: Craft personalized rhythmic levels for Maestro VR. Use an intuitive interface with Smart Tempo tools to define conducting patterns, dynamics, and cues, designing your own symphonic challenges for the Virtual Reality game.

  • Share via Steam Workshop: Export your creations directly to the community. Share your original compositions as simulatable concerts for others to watch, or publish challenging gameplay levels for players to conduct.

  • Ideal for Composers and Gamers: Whether you want to visualize your own symphony or expand your game library, Maestro Level Editor allows you to simulate a realistic concert of your musical piece. It is the perfect bridge between music production and rhythm gaming.

Start creating, simulating, and sharing with Maestro Level Editor and take your passion for music to the next level!
