This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
A young romantic shepherd is not called to arms for the war in the territory's north. However, witless enough, the enemy has changed its attack route. He is left alone with women, children, and animals to protect and with lots of pain of being belittled by men of the locale and his beloved one.
The Uncalled is about a young romantic shepherd who is not called to arms for the war against demons and monsters in the north of the territory, considering that he was unable to fight. However, witless enough, the enemy has already preferred the longer path and flocked around the town in the south, using the caves, lakes, ruins, dungeons under the mountains and swampy areas. Our protagonist is left alone with women, children, and animals to protect against the monsters and with lots of pain of being belittled by men of the locale as well as some young girls including his beloved one.
Game Concept: The Unlikely Hero
Premise:
Our protagonist is a seemingly insignificant character, often overlooked and underestimated. They might be physically frail, socially awkward, or possess a unique weakness that sets them apart from the norm. However, beneath this exterior lies a hidden potential, a spark of courage, and a determination to overcome their limitations.
Gameplay:
Incremental Growth: The character's progression is gradual and satisfying. As they overcome challenges and face adversity, they develop new skills, enhance their abilities, and gradually become a formidable force.
Character Customization: Players can choose from a variety of backstories, weaknesses, and starting attributes, allowing for a personalized experience.
Skill Tree: A deep and engaging skill tree system enables players to tailor their character's growth to their preferred playstyle.
Equipment and Items: A diverse array of equipment and items can be collected and upgraded to enhance the character's abilities and appearance.
Companion System: The protagonist can form bonds with a variety of companions, each with their own unique skills and personalities, providing both emotional support and combat assistance.
Challenging Combat: The combat system should be challenging but rewarding, emphasizing strategic thinking and resource management.
Storyline:
The story can revolve around a quest to save the world from a powerful threat, or a personal journey of self-discovery and redemption. The character's initial weakness can serve as a driving force, motivating them to overcome their limitations and prove themselves worthy of the challenge.
Themes:
Overcoming Adversity: The game can explore themes of perseverance, determination, and the power of the human spirit.
Inner Strength: The character's journey can highlight the importance of self-belief and the potential that lies within even the most unlikely individuals.
Friendship and Loyalty: The bonds formed with companions can emphasize the value of trust, support, and teamwork.
This game concept offers a unique and rewarding experience for players who enjoy watching their characters grow from humble beginnings into powerful heroes.
