This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.
1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."
Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.
Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.
2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.
3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.
4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.
Relictus: Blackout is a grounded, tactical multiplayer shooter designed for players who crave a focused and intense combat experience. Combining the fast-paced action of classic shooters with deliberate, class-based gameplay, Relictus puts strategy and skill at the forefront of every match.
A World in Conflict
In the year 2028, tensions boil over in the remote Tarkhos Province. The fragile ceasefire between NATO-backed Global Intervention Corps (GIC) and the insurgent Red Vostok shatters as full-scale war ignites. The fight isn’t just for territory—it’s for dominance, ideology, and survival.
Dive into a variety of game modes, from traditional Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All to the unique and nerve-wracking Blackout Raid. In this night-time elimination mode, you'll rely on night vision, sound (like footsteps) and pure instinct to outsmart your opponents in a no-respawn, no-killstreak environment.
Choose your path with a distinct class-based loadout system that prevents overpowered "meta" builds. Specialize as a heavy-hitting Support, a nimble Assault, a patient Sniper, or a close-quarters Engineer, each with a unique set of weapons and tactical pros and cons.
With a fully reworked progression system, every match you play contributes to unlocking new weapons, emblems, and cosmetics. Experience a game where every detail matters—from the enhanced weapon SFX and immersive audio to the optimized maps with improved lighting and post-processing.
Key Features:
Intense, Class-Based Combat: Master four distinct classes, each with a unique role and loadout.
Old-School Progression: Level up to unlock new weapons, calling cards, and cosmetic items.
Optimized & Polished: Enjoy a smoother experience with reworked gunplay, improved AI, and visually enhanced maps.
Streamlined Experience: Less clutter and more focus on core gameplay, providing a clean and engaging UI.

Relictus: Blackout features a growing roster of modes designed for different player mindsets and levels of intensity:
Skirmish (FFA): Solo survival in its rawest form. Every combatant is your enemy.
Contact (TDM): Classic team-on-team warfare. Secure the highest kill count through discipline and coordination.
Blackout Raid (Elimination): Squad-based, one-life-per-round tension. When you’re down, you’re out—until the next round.
Mirzov District (Night) – Shadowy urban alleys with flickering lights and sudden ambushes.
Dravon Estates – Suburban strongholds and open courtyards under fire.
Tarkhos – Vehicle lanes, industrial chokepoints, and strategic rooftops.
Drelsk Ridge – Mountain warfare with long-range sightlines and dangerous flanks.
Relictus: Blackout is a gritty, dark, infantry-focused multiplayer FPS that strips away arcade excess and replaces it with uncompromising realism and tension.
Choose Your Side: Join the disciplined GIC or the relentless Red Vostok. Each faction has unique operators with distinct visual designs and gear reflecting their culture, training, and battlefield philosophy.
High Replayability: Thanks to a blend of operator variety, dynamic maps, and multiple game modes, no two matches ever feel the same.
Host Your Own Servers: Players can run dedicated or peer-hosted matches, set their own rules, tweak map rotations, and cultivate unique communities.
Progression Without Paywalls: No battle passes. No pay-to-win. Earn your progression through gameplay alone. Unlock cosmetic options, insignia, and operator gear by playing and winning.
Pure Infantry Combat: No vehicles, no killstreak gimmicks. Just boots on the ground, bullets in the air, and the kind of tension that makes your hands sweat.
Authenticity at Its Core: Weapons feel weighty and lethal, movement is deliberate, and firefights are fast and decisive.
Operator Identity: Choose from visually distinctive operators for each faction, representing the ethos of their side—from GIC’s high-tech tactical gear to Red Vostok’s rugged, scavenged combat rigs.
Built by Players, for Players: Server hosting, custom rule sets, and clan support mean the community shapes the war.
No Fluff, Just Grit: No fantastical gadgets, no out-of-place cosmetics. This is modern warfare stripped to the bone.
Dynamic AI Bots: For training or filling servers, bots act aggressively and unpredictably, offering both practice and challenge.
In Relictus: Blackout, there are no safe zones. Every match is another chapter in a war without end. The GIC fights to stabilize the province and maintain global order. Red Vostok seeks to burn that order to the ground. Your role is simple: pick a side, gear up, and survive.
This is not a war for glory. It’s a war for survival.
Relictus: Blackout — The darkness has a name.
