Guide: Installing Roses in The Flames™ Demo on Linux with Steam Proton

This guide describes how to use Steam Proton to play and run Windows games on your Linux computer. Some games may not work or may break because Steam Proton is still at a very early stage.

1. Activating Steam Proton for Linux:
Proton is integrated into the Steam Client with "Steam Play." To activate proton, go into your steam client and click on Steam in the upper right corner. Then click on settings to open a new window. From here, click on the Steam Play button at the bottom of the panel. Click "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles."

Alternatively: Go to Steam > Settings > Steam Play and turn on the "Enable Steam Play for Supported Titles" option.

Valve has tested and fixed some Steam titles and you will now be able to play most of them. However, if you want to go further and play titles that even Valve hasn't tested, toggle the "Enable Steam Play for all titles" option.

2. Choose a version
You should use the Steam Proton version recommended by Steam: 3.7-8. This is the most stable version of Steam Proton at the moment.

3. Restart your Steam
After you have successfully activated Steam Proton, click "OK" and Steam will ask you to restart it for the changes to take effect. Restart it. Your computer will now play all of steam's whitelisted games seamlessly.

4. Launch Stardew Valley on Linux:
Before you can use Steam Proton, you must first download the Stardew Valley Windows game from Steam. When you download Stardew Valley for the first time, you will notice that the download size is slightly larger than the size of the game.
This happens because Steam will download your chosen Steam Proton version with this game as well. After the download is complete, simply click the "Play" button.

What is Roses in The Flames™ Demo? Features and Description

In a bizarre twist of fate, you are magically transported into a world where you become embroiled in a war between Dragons and the Exterminators. As the player, you get to choose your own path, and you find friendship and maybe something more along the way.

Wait, Dragons are real after all?!

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow not knowing you will be stepping into another reality that very same day? What if that reality is inhabited by dragons?

You are the main character who had the mysterious fate of walking through a magical pond and only to discover after resurfacing, you find out its a world inhabited by Dragons. At first, everything seemed so strange after meeting the first dragon, and then the second. After seeing this world for yourself you realize it's not so bad to be living in Draconia. However, living with dragons comes with its own problems.

Very well, I'm interested. But what's in it for me?

      • Multiple character routes

      • Animated scenes/clips

      • Animated sprites.

        (Blinking, walking, talking, and running.)

      • Over 2 dozen endings.

      • A map system.

We plan on having maps made for each town where we get to explore every single one as well as meeting new characters and viewing new places. You get to click on a specific certain area, let's say you wanted to go to Nan Inles. You would get this where it's even more interactive from there.

      • Unique backgrounds. All of our backgrounds will be made from scratch.

      • Interactive games with the Dragons. (Mini games!) You'll be able to boop snoots, paw holding, flying, and more!

      You create your own fate.

Help yourself and help others by guiding them towards the correct destination in their lives. Be careful with the words that comes out of your mouth.

Your choices early on can lead to a good ending or an unpredictable ending. All of it is entirely up to you...
